i think aus/uk/canada all have a bit of sibling rivalry with the us. they make fun, but its light hearted for the most part.
for instance if a guy from the uk were to walk into a bar in the us, the people here would be excited to talk to them. on the other hand, you still have people saying bad teeth/****ty weather/tea and crumpets/warm beer etc.
i dont know about non english speaking countries but thats my opinion on the canada/aus/uk vs us bickering.

The stupid, fat, lazy slobs are simply more vocal because they are powered by an obscenely rich propaganda network...so it comes off as if most or all of us are the Tea Party slime you see.
There are many good people here. But it is 100% true that we have a dangerous epidemic of stupidity and sloth. It's enough to give you a superiority complex.

For most western countries, like Aus most people don't like America, and think americans are stupid because they generally have very little knowledge outisde their own history, ask many of them all the presidents and they can recite them and numerous facts I couldn't do the same with my leaders.
HOwever this is usually compounded by them always aving an opiion or needing to be outspoken, which when they have no Idea and are telling you it's summer and your an idiot when you say it's winter because you live in a different hemisphere it doesn't help the perception.
That being said all the yanks I have met I'vge gotten on fine with, and for the most part would get on fine with many, it is more of a case of hating your foreign policies than the american people
And all the americans coming in here and saying "oh they're just jealous they don't live here" your not helping the cause. It comes off as so arrogant, most Australian canadians New zealanders etc. have no desire to live in america ever Though visiting it would definately rank quite high. Though I do envy your gun laws, looking at gettig a rifle and it's going to be a serious pain in the A, why can't I own a kalashnikovLife is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think.

As a Canadian, I see the USA as a very important country, them being our closest neighbours and our most important economic partner. Also, contrary to many of my countryfolk, I do not blame the US for being the "world police". Someone has to do it, and that nation will automatically be blamed for it.
I also firmly believe that the general worldly view of the USA as massively ignorant is totally unwarranted and false. Most of the greatest universities of the world are american.
I have a strong fear of the right wing parties, on the other hand. They are absolutely crazy.
I believe healthcare should be the hallmark of any advanced society.
I do not have a bad opinion on they're firearms policy, altough I prefer the laws of my country on that.

America, unlike most, allow the stupid and lazy to suffice. They don't cast away any citizen, no matter how sorry they are. Hell, they even house them in jails for 40+ years until they die a natural death. America keeps up those who survive on government assistance, no matter how many years they do it and no matter what age. Basically, America adjust to the poor and minorities and gives a crap less about the people that actually hold this Country together. Just look at the last election and the people that elected the leader they currently have. They were just thinking about the free money they could get, not about how the Country would benefit.

So question to all my foreign brahs.
Say i was in sidney, london, etc...how would the locals look at me as an American? Would they automatically assume that I was arrogant, uneducated, and sloppy?
Thread is entertaining. Also, notice how you put (srs)(very srs) and a red has yet to open this bitch>2 Year Progress Pictures : Lost 130lbs. From Fat to Jacked. I rep back.

Things I like about USA.
-They bring out the best entertainment (movies, tv, music, literature, games, etc)
-Love a lot of US food (even though most of it is unhealthy)
-Looks like a great place to visit. I'd love to go to San Fransisco, New York, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Washington DC, Hawaii, etc.
-Diversity
-The sheer size of the US and how many cities you have
Things I don't like (Keep in mind I've never been to USA but this is my observation from what I've seen through media)
-Evangelicals and the bible belt
-Dangerous 'hoods' and the amount of homelessness
-The Iraq and Afghan war
-The drug war** Game of Thrones crew **
** Joe Rogan Experience **

The reality is most people say americans but for the most part the hatred stems from the actions of your governement, which for the most part are all of similar stock. I already outlined the ignorance thing it's not that your stupid it is just that most americans are ignorant of anything foreign, I mean you hve guys in the egypt/libya thread with "not a single **** was given that day" and all anyone care about is snooki gettig punched on jersey shore, most americans do not care about the sorld outside america and the huge impact much of it negative America has.
Now this is true of most other countries too but when you are No 1 it means your the brunt of everyones hatred as you are the ones trying to do good and ****ing it up sometimes, most other coutries are never in the spotlight as they lack the influence and sheer might to do anything as drastic as America.Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think.

i'm canadian, and unfortunately everyone i know thinks every single person from the USA is a close-minded extremist.
it's really immature and makes me mad- i can't even have a political debate with most of my friends because of it, like one time when i was talking about how the US's defense general was doing, mentioned one thing he said, everybody goes "well he's fukkin american of course he'd say that"
we're all american, dip****
