because deadlifting 405 for 8-12 reps using training sets is different than pulling 405 for 1. lmao.
a lot of people bench 300 and have a small chest. they dont bench 300 for 8-12 though.
1 rep max. lolz
fukin idiots up in here
ALL OF YOU ARE TALKING 1 REP MAX.
he benches 315 for 1 rep and has a bad chest.
he squats 315 for 1 rep, he has small legs.
ya but if you deadlift 405 for 8-12 for 3 sets. you do have a big back. get it yet?

way too pussy to deadlift heavy anymore (anything over 315)
-tweaked my back twice, both times using proper form and under supervision of other people who verified I did not break form.
-back problems run in my family
-I'd like to have a functional back for the rest of my life so I will avoid 1rm deads or anything too heavy to use for more than 6 reps
edit: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Joshua91 againno sig crew

405 is kinda difficult if you first get to it. Sure there's some skinny guys on here that can dead that but it's still no joke. I know bros that are 200+ that have trouble with 385

Its because 90% of people who lift overtrain and don't eat enough thus keeping them skinny with no gains. My back day is 3 sets of weighted pull-ups 2 sets of bb rows and 1 set of deads and I feel like someone took a hammer to my back the following 3 days. Its hard for most to come to terms that 5-6 sets is enough. You can do 12-15 sets of deads every week and develop strength on that particular movement. Will your back grow from that kind of abuse off the juice on a weekly basis? Maybe when you first start to train but after the break in period your strength may go up but your muscle growth will obtain little to nothing.

Haha thanks.
I should clarify that. Rack pulls are a better bodybuilding exercise imo. Deadlifts are a superior lift overall. Because of my leverages deadlifts just aren't a back exercise for me. It's all glutes and hips. For some people they will feel it more in their back, but not for me. Rack pulls pump my whole back up. For me deads were superior because adding mass wasn't my goal. I just think it's a better overall lift too. If someone could only do one I would say deadlifts 90% of the time.
