    What is your squat style?

    I was just wondering how most people squat.

    Do you go for a low bar powerlifter style squat or a high bar Olympic style squat? (for more explanation, here's a good article: http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_...lifting_squats )

    I personally always squat high bar, feel so much more natural and since I do Olympic weightlifting, its more applicable for me.

    If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?

    I do both.. For some reason, I prefer doing Olympic for heavier weights because when I do low bar it feels like the weight is gonna fall haha.. But when I do low bar for lighter weight, higher reps, idk.. It just feels better..

    I never stray higher then 5 reps but I do it opposite.


    Low bar is easier to maintain form and IMO safer for the back to lift heavier weight.

    High bar with lighter weight in order to get a good stretch, hit full ROM, and still maintain good form.

    Sort of a mixture. I like low bar, but not a wide stance like powerlifters do. Puts a bit more emphasis on my quads, IMO.

    I do low bar because high bar hurts for some reason. But I don't have a giant foot stance like a powerlifter, slightly wider than shoulder width works for me. Squat to parallel.

    High bar = On top of traps (on the shelf created by them)

    Low bar = Across traps on top of posterior delts.
