I'm not sure if anyone has tried this, but I saw some forums where people were doing this with decent results.
Basically, you take a 90 min nap during the day, and then sleep for 4.5 hours instead of one 8 hour sleep cycle.
So you get 6 instead of 8, allowing more time during the day.
Also i get up at 430 am for work, and if I wanted to get 8 hours, I would have to be in bed by 8:30 the previous night, leaving me no social life at all.
Has anyone tried this? Could this bi-phasic sleep work well for cutting / preserving LBM / maintain recovery from workouts? I want to try it with IF

It's not the 2 hours, but if I had to sleep for 1 whole block instead of 2, it would put me in bed somewhere between 830pm and 9pm.
I've been told the reason it's split up by 90 min cycles is for REM purposes, so I'm not sure that 2 hours (maybe an hour and a half, would) would do anything. I could be wrong though.

To better illustrate:
Sleeping for 8 hours (traditional sleep schedule, or monophasic):
8:30pm - 4:30am Sleep
Sleeping for 6 hours (bi-phasic)
3:30pm - 5:00pm Sleep
5:00pm - 12am Enjoy family/friends/life
12am - 4:30am Sleep
Yes, you do get 6 hours instead of 8 on a bi-phasic. But for the purposes of cutting and muscle recovery, is 2 hours necessary? With the way REM is split up, I was under the impression anything that's not in an interval of 90 minutes is useless.
My favorite part about bi-phasic though is that I don't feel like I'm older than my grandfather going to bed so early.

i used to get up at 430a, 455a now. if im asleep by 1030pm i'm fine. I'd optimally like to get to sleep by 930, but that usually doesnt happen. it sucks, but work's work.
you'd likely adjust to sleeping less if you start doing it.
u don't NEED 8 hrs, the amount of sleep is highly individual (and ur body will likely adapt, anyway)
