Thumbs up Psyllium Husk... The Saviour of a cutting diet

I decided on doing a colon detox a week back. I ordered some Psyllium Husk + Clay. Its going pretty well, but the added bonus which I wasnt expecting is that Psyllium Husk fills you up so much.

I now have 50g of oats, 100g of low fat yogurt, 1 scoop of choc whey and a tbsp of Psyllium Husk for breakfast. Its not much but it keeps me full till lunch time.

Just make sure you drink loads of water with it. Otherwise it will be like ****ting out a grenade.

Ok, I can dig the role of the Psyllium Husk. I would assume it would work as any soluble fiber and provide you some bulk in your tummy and beyond, but what's the purpose of ingesting clay???

Its part of the detox. Bentonite clay. Suppose to work with the Psyllium Husk. I only put the Psyllium Husk in my oats tho. Mega filling.

Psyllium Husk is now a staple in my diet. cutting or bulking. its cheap and keeps things flowing, so to speak

Its really needed when I am cutting on a keto diet, since the only fiber I do get is from it and green veggies.

"Sodium bentonite expands when wet, absorbing as much as several times its dry mass in water." <--- So does silica gel, but I'm not going to ingest it!

I think I'll go with jdies on this and wish you all the luck with its usage, but I think I'll refrain from eating dirt intentionally.

During Mao's Great Leap Forward, when millions of people were starving to death, many of them began eating bentonite clay because it was filling. Its effects were either good or bad depending on your point of view. They died of internal bleeding rather quickly, but it may be better than dying of hunger very slowly... Granted, they were eating unrefined clay which may have had other contaminants and they were eating ONLY the clay because there was no other food. I bring it up as bit of gastronomical trivia rather than a condemnation of the 'supplement'.

I know products that contain Psyllium in them give me terrible gas. Does anyone else have this issue with it?

Psyllium was fine for me for a while but it started giving me pretty bad stomach pains when I took it at night. Happened twice and I haven't taken it since. It's a much better idea to just work fiber into your diet naturally. Use high fiber breads and eat lots of broccoli!

Not gonna lie,I take the Original metamucil(nasty as hell, but works the best for me). I take 1 tablespoon with 8oz of water every morning and eat a banana,so thats pretty much my breakfast. I had hemrhoids from workingout I guess, and taking the metamucil helps so much with them. It also does make me feel full, but gotta drink it kinda fast before it solidifies in the glass!

Never tried it. I've thought about it though. Might help with gas and bloating. Since I am lactose intolerant, I always seem to be bloated.

It's not going to help with gas related to lactose intolerance, I don't believe. It is an enzyme that will help digest fiber in a non-gassy way. Lactaid makes tablets that you can take for that, though. They're not quite as cheap
