short but intense workouts vs. standard muscle group ex
i discovered bodyrock.tv, and each day they post a new workout that is around 20min but super intense, i read a lot of comments and people seem to really like them
i am used to training full body 3 times a week, standard workouts, intense but your push ups, rows, squats, lunges etc. and then on the other days doing cardio and even some cardio on my weight days, easy elliptical or treadmill.
I want to FIRM up my body, maybe lose some weight but just be tight. anyone have any input?

I looked at bodyrock.com and it seems like these workouts are very intense. However, if you look closely at bodyrockrers, they do watch their diet! On the other hand, I hear what you are trying to say. The strong point about Zuzanna's workouts is intensity and diversity. It is possible to ask your personal trainer to make an intense interval workout for you if you are sure in your capabilities (they are very tough, require a good fitness level and commitment). Currently, Im working on combining cardio and weight training and working out very intense, but 5 times per week (maximum an hour every time, but Im trying to push my limits and challenge myself every week. I used to concentrate primarily on cardio for a while, now go for tonus more, plus do cardio for keeping my body fat under control). So, long story short, tell your personal trainer what you would like to achieve, how fast and emphasize that you do not want to spend too much time in a gym and so forth. If it is a personal trainer, Im pretty sure you can get a good Zuzanna style program.

Fat loss starts with your diet. But in order to get a tight/firm look, you've got to have the muscle underneath to support the look. You're not going to building much muscle using cardio/based type workouts.
Get your diet in check, focus on the heavier weights and be consistent.

I dont have a personal trainer, I want to lose weight but not be flabby. I would think with the intensity of the workouts i would have to have some sort of muscle building going on? maybe do these 4 times a week and then do two days of heavy weights focusing on the parts I want to build?

I've been following Zuzana since the site was created. I do the workouts 4-5 times a week, along with split training 5x a week. I find if I only do bodyrock workouts then I get too skinny, I personally need the extra weight training. But the bodyrock workouts are great to build endurance, are fun, you work on flexibility and they are intense.

It's also important to keep in mind that ms Zuzana is a former porn star/nude model (no hate!) and has kept her diet tight/kept in shape for a loooooooooooong time. Her workouts are good - but she has an incredibly low body fat and very tight diet, rather than building lots of muscle. But go for it. It's good. Just be realistic about what to expect out of it - watching Zuzana doing bodyrock is like watching Ava Cowan do bodybuilding - you're looking at the creme of the crop, 100% hardcore lifestyle, rather than what is typical.
