sharp pain in back of my head when exercising

when im in the middle of a heavy squat set , bench press, db shoulder press, or db bench there is a sharp pain in the back of my head that comes on really fast, i have to rest for like 5 minutes before i can do another set because its so painful, and then it slowly dies down but is still there.

how do i fix this?? is there even anything i can do??

i had thisabout 2.5 years ago OP, when ever i squated/benched it felt like an ice pick driving in the back side of my head behind my ear right to my forehead. was 100% unable to lift/move.

i went to the doctors and was told "everythings fine, take an ansprin if it bothers you"

went to a cyropractor did some adjustments in my neck/upper back and i was in the gym THAT evening (he told me to wait a week, but i didn't)

    i was fine since

Exertion headaches. Take a week or two off from lifting and it'll go away. Work on your breathing during sets.

this happened to me once. i was squatting and i got a sharp pain in the lower back of my head and i came quickly. i couldnt do any other lifts either. whenever i would exert myself it would start hurting again, only not as bad. i had to take like a month off and it was fine.
i researched it online a little and apparently this can be cause when your squatting if you have the bar in a bad place. i think i had it up too high on my neck and it must have fukked something up

    Exclamation Same here!

Same thing is happening to me. Started exercising and gaining weight. 5 months no problem, and now all of a sudden, I can't even work out for 10 seconds without getting intense sharp pulsating pain. Feels like between back of skull and 1st vertebrate. Last maybe a minute to 5 but I have to stop what I'm doing and relax. It's ruining my work out ability. (even happens during any sexual activity). This has been happening for about 3 weeks now and seems to be getting worse. Hoping it's nothing too serious, but from what I've been reading, hopefully it's just exertion headache that will go away eventually. Any other thoughts from anyone?

I got these exertion headaches for the first time recently as well. Mainly when I squatted and did pull ups/lat pulldown. I laid off those exercises for about 2 weeks and focused on my breathing and now I have no issues. So if you're getting these drop down the weight some and really focus on your breathing and work your way back up.

This. Focus on your breathing and your form and they should subside in about a week or so.
