This woman is really one of my hero's. She was married to a gay man in the 1970's, he latter contracts HIV and dies. She was a renouned Mormon poet and author and bravely spoke out by writting a book telling her story back in 1985. At the time I was so firmly in the closet I didn't even dare look at it.
In this clip in the first 4 minutes she exsplains the wonder of homosexuals and why we have no business trying to change them. Sorry I don't know how to embed. It is well worth watching at least the first 5 min.

You can, and need to find a ground that you know you are suppose to stand on.. hence, stand your ground, this is the place where you know everything is as it should be for you. If you stand in a place where you know in your heart things are wrong, most things around you will never be right.
Rule number one, never work at being what another man defines as being "honorable", Honorable is is being true to what you know and and doing what you know is right for you..

Mormon is the nickname for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A conservative religion that believes that the ancient church was taken from the earth due to apostasy. Believes that God restored it to the earth thru a prophet Joesph Smith and they believe they are Gods church restored to earth. They believe in modern day prophets and apostles.

She did marry him knowing he was gay, at the time she believed what the church told both of them that he could be cured. They thought marriage would do it. They were divorced after 6 years or so. He moved to San Francisco in 1982 contracted hiv and died in her home in 1984.
She has been an activist ever since and retains her membership in the church. She is a very brave women. You can, and need to find a ground that you know you are suppose to stand on.. hence, stand your ground, this is the place where you know everything is as it should be for you. Definately not a choice, I don't remember ever having any attraction to women. I tried my best, at 14 I bought a penthouse and hoped that would work. It didn't, tried dating women, therapy marriage. At the end of the day I was still gay. It took me a lifetime to appreciate who I am and finally be happy that I am who I am.
