Im no doctor, but I think bodies will metabolize it differently.
I have taken pre workout supps and have had trouble sleeping hours later...but have also had pre workouts at x2 dosing and been fine at sleep time.
Im also stim tolerant (more than average) so I dont notice an energy boost or jitter effect like you describe. Also, 200mg all at once, its stout. But brewed coffee can have anywhere from 60-120mg per 8oz cup depending on the bean and roast.
"effects can last from a few hours to as long as 12, but within 4 days of regular use, the body develops tolerance to many of the effects of caffeine."

The time required for the body to eliminate one-half of the total amount of caffeine varies widely among individuals according to such factors as age, liver function, pregnancy, some concurrent medications, and the level of enzymes in the liver needed for caffeine metabolism. In healthy adults, caffeine's half-life is approximately 4.9 hours. In women taking oral contraceptives, this is increased to 5–10 hours, and in pregnant women the half-life is roughly 9–11 hours.
