Are we able to freeze humans then bring them back to life ? (srs)

Sounds silly at first but have we ever tried freezing a human and then bringing them back to life?

What are the complications? Im assuming since they freeze nothing changes..... its just frozen, nothing deteriorates ?, etc..

nope but maybe in the future. Lots of millionaires are freezing them selves right when they die and kept in a lab so that hopefully one day the future would bring them back. Its very expensive tho

not freeze, but they have used a method on trauma patients that lowers their body temp to like 50 something degrees and then bring them back up to normal temp.....something like that. its saved ppl's lives who were thought to be good as dead. can't remember the details but thats the basics of it IIRC

edit: they basically induce the person into hypothermia to prevent brain damage

    fluid when frozen expands
filll up a bottle with water to the top
put in freezer and ull see the ice will be above the rim

same concept with the water in your bloods cells
it expands and ruptures the cells.

    no possible way to survive

Actually, only water does this. Most things contract when exposed to low temperatures.

remember reading an article about this being seriously studied, and is making good progress. The issue is finding the perfect temperature in which someone enters a cryogenic state without dying. There have been a couple cases of people trapped under water, in ice, etc for various lengths of time that would usually be fatal, but because of the temperatures they experienced, ended up living. Pretty weird ****

Technology doesn't exist today to freeze and then bring someone back to life. The thought is that in a couple of years they will be able to unfreeze frozen bodies and bring them back to life so that's why some people are freezing themselves now.

    Eventually.

Scientists are working on this. This scientist woman came to my school once and she was telling us at the end that if you want to be brought back to life you need to sign up to this place and when your dead your body will be stored in this giant warehouse in very cold temps and once they know how to bring ppl back to life you'll be woken up (srs).

i could see a person being froze or kept at the perfect temp and brought back from a state of unconciousness. but a dead person frozen is a dead person for good no bringing them back to life

    edit:

besides the freezing ****. i dont believe a human can be dead for a considerable amount of time(say 1 year) and be brought back to life.

What are the complications? Im assuming since they freeze nothing changes..... its just frozen, nothing deteriorates ?, etc..
The ice slices your cells apart causing all the important contents to run out, thus nothing works when the the person is thawed.

The obvious has been stated already. Only some animals can freeze themselves only to be awaken and resurrected after the winter is passed. Frogs do this during the winter. If we can incorporate the protein somehow, maybe it'll be possible?

I think you're referring to cryogenic storage.

Here's a cool documentary on it.
