Kodiak and polar bears weigh around 1000 lbs, give or take some hundreds. Hippos weigh 3000 lbs and rhinos weigh even more. Hippos and rhinos have very thick skin that could easily fend off bites/claws. Hippos can charge like rhinos, but their bites can also **** over even Nile crocs. Bears ain't ****.

Most large vegetarian mammals. Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, I'd say even a water buffalo in a 1v1 would stand a good chance. Giraffes could do some damage but I think they'd lose 8/10 times. Water animals isn't really fair as I assume this is an arena scenario, all would depend on the terrain there. Other land carnivores? Doubt it, I remember hearing they used to do this in old times and bears always came out top, even against tigers. Neck muscles far too strong and thick to allow much damage from a tiger.
