Smile What to look for in a gym... before you join.

    Hi all...

Been training hard outdoors and at home for a while now...

I think I am now gym worthy as have come down from 94 kilos to 65 kilos with lots of Cardio and endurance training...

really want to start building some muscle now and am on a prowl for a good gym... visiting a few this week in my area and out off my area as well...

Been following many threads about people complaining abotu over crowding in gyms... waiting for equipment for more than a hour... etc...

Since I have not chosen a gym before... what should I look out for... or is there a thread that has been started about this that anyone can let me know about...

    Cheers
Your body is the best instrument you will ever ... EVER own.

    It depends on your goals.

If you have never worked out at a gym before it may not matter so much.

Maybe an indoor track is important to you, or a gymnasium that is long enough to do lunges or traveling movements without machines getting in the way.

Maybe you want a gym with a trap bar or tires to flip, or a prowler.

The majority of gyms, however, will have the basics that you need to start out with.

Hours of operation, if its crowded, cleanliness, helpfulness of staff are all important too.
