Sharp pain in my lower back / left ass cheek

I haven't been lifting with the best form... I've become lazy and started lifting DB's off the ground with my back, without bending my legs.

Now I have this sharp pain...did I pinch a nerve? I'm sitting in my computer chair right now and can't even fully lift and extend my left leg without this sharp pain pointing at my left thigh...feels like a bruise and needles. When I get up to walk, there's this pointy pain towards the left side of my ass.

It sounds like a bulging disc. I'd take it easy for a while, or you could rupture it.

    F*******ckkkkkkkkk serious?

Back day is tomorrow, I think I'll replace it with Arms since that's usually on Tuesday.

Bulging disc doesn't sound good...I'm able to walk, but if I try and straighten out my back and walk, then I start feeling the pain in my hip area/ass again

You're probably pinching a nerve, which is caused when your spine goes out of alignment. I've had the same thing happen to me, just try to crack it by twisting and massage/icy hot your lower back muscles (when they get tightened up they will pull your spine back out of alignment).

Wow, now I'm f*cking scared...and here I was, planning to workout Arms in about an hour. I'm going to take your advice, and probably take a Week off and if this pain doesn't go away, then I'll get it checked.

I can still do LISS right? Walking briskly is fine? I do it 5 times a week, goodbye sweet gains

I noticed, whenever I get up from the computer chair, I have the most stinging pain ever...it worsens when I try and straighten my back, protruding my ass outwards, attempting to walk in a straight form...it hurts

I wouldn't even go to the gym for 2 weeks or more

it really isn't worth it, very seriously, risking hurting your back more is simply not worth it

You start using it too soon and you risk permanent injury

    You only get one back

do not, do not, do not go work-out

take it easy, see a doctor, pick up yoga

if you take action now you will prevent long-lasting pain and injury

    I speak from painful experience

ps: don't work out till your back is better

Yeah brah, it's hard to explain...I don't think there's any lower back pain at all, it's all in the left cheek...you're right, it does travel down to the back of my leg.

WTF, almost a year? It's that serious? I got it from lifting DB's off the ground, around 50-60lbs...

Yup, I am just now getting over this too. Buldging disc, L5/S1 irritating the sciatic nerve. It has taken abotu 5 months to feel good. Continued working out in an active therapy role. doing what doesn't irritate it.

My vote is for sciatic nerve. Just take it easy for a few days. It doesn't take much to make it worse.

You start using it too soon and you risk permanent injury

    You only get one back

do not, do not, do not go work-out

take it easy, see a doctor, pick up yoga

if you take action now you will prevent long-lasting pain and injury

    I speak from painful experience

ps: don't work out till your back is better
I'll take your advice, thanks a lot bro.

This is just so frustrating...it's my first major injury and I got it from lifting these sorry ass 50lb DB's...I just got back into lifting for crying out loud lol.

Brisk walking should be fine right, LISS won't hurt? I'm already at my desk enough as it is, LISS is my proper way of getting daily exercise into my day, in addition to lifting.

WTF, almost a year? It's that serious? I got it from lifting DB's off the ground, around 50-60lbs...
yea almost a year but thats only cuz sciatica is not one of those things that if u just leave it alone it will heal on its own. for some people it is, but not for everyone. the pain hasnt gotten worse, i think its improved just a little bit from stretching and such. i went to my schools athletic trainer/phys therapy and they said its prolly from my deadlifts. they jsut told me to do a bunch of stretches and some exercises for it. i think its helped a little bit. thats like the first step of treatment. then theres anti inflammatory pills, and shots. if it gets REALLY bad, some people have to get surgery for it which should be ur very last option to healing it. at first i kept wanting to dl cuz its a big ego lift and all that, but then i stopped all dl's all together because im like whats the point of getting higher numbers in dl when i cant even perform basic tasks and my leg isnt even functioning right. ive decided that even after i heal up (which i really hope it does) the MOST ill do is rack pulls. no more full dl's.

Damn your pain sounds a lot like mine, I did a bit of research and indeed the only thing I came up with was sciatic nerve. Feelsbadman. Luckily it doesn't really hurt anymore, but I feel it kinda constantly inflamed. But I'll take that over the debilitating pain it used to give me.
