Does anyone know what the ratings were for the Season 2 premiere on Sunday? We really need high ratings for this show if we want to see Seasons 3, 4, etc.

Idk if I like this...
With more than four million viewers back in the Westeros fold, a season-three pickup for "Thrones" seems all but guaranteed. Indeed, it's possible that we're on the verge of a two-season order; producers and show-runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been very open about their desire to split the third novel in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, titled "A Storm of Swords," into two distinct seasons, as opposed to the tried-and-true one-book-per-season method that's worked so well so far.
"As George and all his fans have said for a long time, there's no way to do it in a single season, so it's being broken into two," Benioff told EW.com last month about his intentions to turn "Storm" into two seasons of "Thrones." "We're still kind of figuring out exactly what goes where. We don't want it to feel like a two-part season."
If this is true we'll never see the series "finished." If they're splitting ASOS into two seasons.. wtf are they going to do with AFFC and ADWD.

The end result is the most-watched episode of "Game of Thrones" ever, rising significantly above its previous series best of 3.04 million for the season-one finale.
"Game of Thrones" was easily the top-ranked scripted series on cable on Sunday night, too, far outpacing the second episode of the fifth season of "Mad Men," which posted a strong 2.94 million viewers. "Thrones" made even shorter work of "The Killing," which netted 1.8 million for its second season premiere."Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment"

I'm not doubting that GOT is very popular. It's just at the rate they're going.. it will take 8+ seasons to finish the show. That's a long time and a lot of issues. It's a very expensive show to make.. the actors will want to move on to other projects etc. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see 15 seasons of the show, I'm just being realistic.

I wonder if there's a way that they can begin to incorporate A Feast For Crows into the 2nd season of A Storm of Swords and the season of A Dance with Dragons. AFRCs seems kinda like a filler in a lot of aspects, we see a lot of POV characters that haven't been in the other three books. I have to say I enjoyed AFRC the least out of the 5 so far.

I think most people agree that the content of AFFC and ADWD will have to be combined in order for things to make sense chronologically. Otherwise you would have an entire season without Jon and the night's watch and a lot of the other popular characters that aren't in AFFC. That said, it would still probably wind up being just 2 seasons, with the first season being the first halves of AFFC and ADWD, and the second season would be the second half of the books.

I would think once they get thru seasons 3 and/or 4 we'll have a better idea of how they can shift major events to balance out the action. I don't want to post spoilers but I could think of a few major events that might be re-arranged and not effect the story line too much
Without knowing how the next few seasons unfold it's hard to speculate what things will be like that far aheadAisle by Aisle Keto Shopping Guide ----> http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=117649931

They could EASILY split ASOS in to two seasons and keep the viewers hooked.. End it with a certain two deaths and foreshadow the **** thats gonna go down at the wall in the next season. If you've read ASOS theres ALOT that happens. Putting it in one season would either require 20 eps or 2 seasons imo.

Let's remember GRRM needs to finish the last 2 books first before they can make a series of it. The first one came out in 1996.... each subsequent release averages a 2.8 year gap. He's not a man to rush either.

Pepper your angus...GRRM is not loyal to any of his characters...many get killed off throughout the series. Ain't like LOTR where you know the main will make it to the end and everyone will live happily ever after....well, except Sean bean of course...lol
Edit : BTW, 2 people don't die in ASOS.Last edited by Motaba; 04-04-2012 at 09:52 AM.

The thing that both disgusts me and grips me about this series is characters dying....there is no fairytale ending here for anyone it would seem, there will always be war and even in times of peace a war like man will find someone to war with - thats exactly what Martin's world is like; bleak, absent of true heroes who ride in and save the day and money always holds the aces against honour.
Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.
