    Big weekend

Ok so i kind of went overboard on the weekend as it was my 21st birthday and then the superbowl. It was pretty much 3 straight days of eating and drinking whatever i wanted, and lots of it. I dont regret it because i enjoyed every bit of it!
So anyway i got on the scales on wednesday morning and i put on 3 kilograms.
My question is should i eat less over the next few days to compensate for this or should i just get straight back into my usual intake??

    Cheers guys

    Are you bulking, cutting, etc?

P.S. A lot of the weight is probably just water retention.

yeah i thought that aswell but how long does that usually last? Because it was wednesday that i weighed myself.

I am attempting a "clean bulk" at the moment, trying to eat just over my maintenance

In my experience just eat normally afterwards. Consistency is king.

Just go back to normal, I wouldn't really worry about lowering calorie intake unless you are forcing food down. I usually find it takes a few days to feel normal again, and maybe 4-7 days for my weight to get back to normal depending on what/how much I ate.

    You're bulking.

You but on some mass (most of it probably transient, but still).

I'm failing to see why you're rushing off to go, "OMFG HAVE TO LOSE IT!".

I mean is it ok to have a massive feast of "bad" foods once a week or fortnight?

and what effects this influx of calories, particularly fats and carbs, has on the body?

i'm assuming you ate alot of takeaways.

so you probably ate much more sodium than normal, hence your body is retaining water.

a few days back on the normal diet and probably 90% of that weight will drop off.

That fear is your problem. You have to be willing to get a bit of body fat to add muscle.
