That could be its own thread.
I work in an impoverished neighborhood with a very high crime rate. I enjoy the store and my supervisor has tried to move me to wealthier areas to get me out of the hood many times but I always refuse. Ive been there for 7+ years and wouldnt have it any other way.
One of the best is when two women got in a fist fight standing in line at the pick up. I look over and they were just slamming each other. One woman got her glasses punched off her face and was a bloody mess and gets caught in a choke hold and pretty much gets choked out in a chair. It was quite a way to start the morning.

Pretty cool, not much of an interest for myself, but those that dont like fast paced retail or dealing with customers find it to be a better alternative.
The salary seems to be a bit lower than retail, but it seems like you dont deal with all the hoops corporate would like you to jump through in regards to performance.

Worked at CVS as a pharm tech for 9 months. Worse job I've ever had, hands down. I hope you don't work for them.
Do you feel test/anabolic steroids should be a class III narcotic? It was my understanding that AAS actually doesn't meet the requirements to be a class III, and they just kind of threw it in there. I know the FDA was against putting it there, or at least against making it illegal. Any insight on this? Thanks!

Kind of agree with you on the AAS, not entirely sure why they have it as a CIII. The classification is based on abuse risk. I dont think anyone really develops a physical dependance on AAS, so why its so high on the list is a bit strange.
I think it just has more do with the gov monitoring where the stuff is going and doesnt want it to get in the hands of athletes or people that could abuse it for enhancement purposes.

The customers to be honest, but CVS didn't help. They switched over their computer system, which failed constantly. We were sent e-mails saying that we were not to blame the computer system malfunction on their prescriptions not being done. Well if we have no information, we can't fill your script.
I also helped out at another CVS in a poorer area of town, and they were much nicer than the regular store I worked at. I'm sure the OP has seen worse, but my largest script fill I had ever given a person at once, was 17. It was like a McDonalds to-go bag. People were constantly pissed at me because their insurance didn't cover things, or they were too early, or they had lost pills but I can't give them any more b/c it's not covered, then they have to pay cash, but they don't have any money etc. etc.
A lot of the "entitlement" attitude just didn't sit well with me. My grandma is 98 years old, has only lived in assisted living for 2 years, and only takes blood pressure and glaucoma medication. I had parents that insisted their kids be put on ADHD meds, one family had every child on it.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, I could bitch about that job for days.

The vicodins tend to be abused a bit more than the T3s and most docs want to start on the lowest rung of their arsenal in terms of fighting pain. T3s certainly are a bit dirtier in terms of side effects in regards to hydrocodone, but sometimes the side effects are there to help curb abuse potential.
