funny.. i'm really actually considering this as a career to pursue..
why did you choose to become a pharmacist?
is this something you're passionate for?
what was your path on becoming a pharmacist (school, apprenticeship, etc.)?
how's the pay (what's the starting pay like)?
what's your day like?
what advice you give to someone considering this as a career but not really that into it, basically just in it for "easy" money. is it easy?

Totally depends on the medication.
Creams, ear/eye drops, asthma meds, etc. are usually just pre-packaged. Which makes it pretty easy for us. We just slap a sticker on it and it goes out.
Tablets/capsules have to be counted out of larger bottles of 100/500/1000s. Some pharmacies have auto-counters/robots that make that job a bit easier. After you have been at it for a few years you can count pretty fast.
A lot of times billing it through your insurance company is the hold up. Also realize that even though no people may be in the pharmacy they could be working a huge order or be behind and are working to catch up. Theirs a lot of things that could happen to slow production down.

In at 8....
Open gate, start filling scripts that came in over night (usually around 75 or so) people begin calling/walking in to drop off around 9-10. Fill those, handle Dr. faxes/call-ins by 12 or so. Lunch around 1:30-2:30. Try to have everything cleaned out before evening rush which is about 3-6. Around 7 or so grab some food and prepare the order for tomorrows day. 8-9, BS with my techs and start cleaning up. (13 hour shifts twice a week) shorter shifts are just more condensed, but deal with the same.

Im a people person and like to help people. Being sick always sucks, if you can help someone feel better its a great feeling.
Passionate? Yeah, I enjoy what I do most of the time.
Worked in a large chain pharmacy as an intern around my second year of pharmacy school. I had no "medically" related job until then.
I think people are getting around 120k or so fresh out of school. You can make as much as you want if your in an area that needs a lot of help. I have a few friends that work a lot of hours, but clear 200k pretty easily.
Last question: see previous post.
