for competition, for myself cause i love the sport, i am an aggressive, impulsive person, so weight training is a good way for me to release everything at the gym. N to show all the people not to gimme **** no more when i look bigger n better than u.
Impossible is nothing, my success story.

I’ll admit this begs a few questions, mostly about how pure strength makes anybody healthier, or helps in a given sport. There’s the predictable answer about how numerous studies recommend resistance training for the maintenance of bone density and muscle mass and even for heart-health benefits equal to cardiovascular exercise, how even famous big-wave surfers have begun lifting like this, and how barbells have become de rigueur on the pro-tennis circuit. But there’s an even better reason to build pure strength. I’ve come to believe that men don’t go to gyms just to avoid heart disease or support our weekend sports. It’s worth getting strong because we go to gyms in large part to maintain a little goddamned self-respect, and to blow off steam, and to insist, against all odds, that we do remain fiercely vital physical beings. And trust me, there’s nothing like watching your dead lift skyrocket to make you feel vital. It’s the happy exhaustion, the sense of hard work well done, with a clear purpose; it’s the rush of seeing your body change, fat turning into lean mass.*Fat Kunt Krew (FKK)* President: Alan Aragon

I use it as something to focus on as well as stress relief. When I go into the gym everything else stays at the door, my gym is my haven i consider it scared. All your energy is then focused to developing and improving yourself. Motivation comes from the need to be perfect, that need to be not just good but be the very best you can be.
Something about bodybuilding that separates it from the rest of my hobbies. I loving playing music, and cooking (no homo) football etc. But the drive I have for bodybuilding is un-explainable.
To sum up, I lift to achieve excellence.

I lift because I want to improve. I want to always become better. Being extremely overweight before, I was never really motivated. Now I want to just get better. I do not lift to get girls, though that is a nice bonus. There is nber anything better than lifting that heavier weight, knowing this is what you worked for; this is what you earned.
I only had one class this semester, and it was only an interim class, so having a lot of free time can be hard. I hate not being productive. Fours hours at the gym is normal. So, I guess lifting, great health, and constant improvement, is why I lift.

for myself, at first i was inspired by girls obv but now its a whole different level than that, when things arnt going my way i usually look a few aspects of my life and judge a good week/day by those, the gym being one of them. If anything the gym's made me more self concious but that just drives me to look better, sure womenz on the side would be nice but id still be tryin to get huge regardless.

Because theres nothing more exciting than picking up heavy **** and putting it back down again
The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That's what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens.

I started out lifting when I fractured my heel and was in a walking boot for 3 months and couldn't have any other form of excercise basically. I played soccer on the college team at the time of the injury so I was really serious about soccer but then found a liking for upperbody weight lifting (I had been doing lower body for years as a soccer player). Anyway once I began to get cuts and really defined and gain strength because of the lifting on the field (would never get pushed off the ball, would power bigger guys that I never could before) I basically got addicted to lifting and couldn't imagine going back to my weak non-cut and toned upperbody.
