While small, I finally can do sets of 25 pushups. I'm gonna try to do 200 a day(8 sets of 25) for the next month.

Congratz man! Push ups can be a bitch, I've been working on mine since september.
You may delay, but time will not.
Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.
Don’t wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.

If you do give up though just think. The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up.

If I remember correctly, a few weeks back I leg pressed 750 I think? It may have been 680 or 690 but let's just call it 700. I broke my old record by 300. It was my first time doing it in a few years.

Broke my old deadlift PR the other day. Finally did 4 plates for 1 rep (405lb), with my old PR being 385lb. The funny thing is, I'm actually on a keto cut and weigh less than I did when I had my old PR.

No belt or any support. In the past I had trouble with my grip during deadlifts, i bought straps and used them once but I felt I was cheating my grip so I stopped using them.

I'm up to 3 sets of pullups with about 8 reps with a plate added. I would feel great if I could get to 3 sets of 15 with a plate.

    This is a great thread

I read this before I went to the gym tonight and it inspired me all workout long. I remember not long ago when I would be killing myself to get 165 for a set of six on Close Grip Seated Cable Rows... today I repped out 240 like it owed me $100. Body changes are what I want while I'm away from the gym, but as soon as I step in those doors my world revolves around weight and strength. I love strength gains. Keep it up, boys!

On another note, I saw someone post that they're going for 405 on deadlift. The most i've done was 445 for 5 reps, but at one point my back was so weak I was doing 135 slowly for sets of eight to prevent injury. You got that man!

Nice man. Are you close to those #'s again? And thanks! I'm a little bit nervous though because the only reason I didn't lock out 405 was because it pulled my back or something when I was just about at the top, my back was very stiff for a few days. My form was good and everything.

a couple days ago I did 415 for 5, so I'm getting there. Yeah man, deads are scary sometime even with good form. Don't sell out on a number(like 405) just go with what feels right and you'll get there. It's better to hit 395 four weeks in a row and then crush 415 than to try and jump up early and pull something. Good luck dude let me know how it goes.

Seems like a good time for my first post.
Last Friday I set new PRs on the Bench Press - 200lbs, and Squats - 300lbs (both 1RMs).

It took a lot of work to get there, but there's no stopping me now!

Thumbs up I Smashed This Hot PR Today...

This week, I finally moved up to 4 plates from just 3 plates earlier in the week.

    My system was simple:

First time I moved up from 3 plates to 4 plates, I just didn't eat the crusts.

I felt like that gave me more concentrated protein intake from the pepperonis
and sausage instead of diluted with all that extra bread.

Next day, (today) ate the same 4 plates of pizza from the buffet for lunch, but this time--included the crusts too. (srs)

Was like, "Yeah buddy! Light weight baby, Light weight."

I think the waitress was mirin 'cause she came over and took the plates I already
finished off the table for me and smiled.

I think next time I'll add a salad, some breadsticks and throw an extra plate on there
for a 5 plate lunch, but that may be pushing it. (No gear except a few napkins and a diet coke).

I didn't track the actual calories but I'm pretty sure I ended up with a daily surplus,
so we'll see next time I hit the scales!

Hopefully my feat of sheer determined will power will motivate some of the brahs and brahettes struggling with higher metabolisms in here on the skinnier side into consuming some more calories to grow along with me.

(Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can...even you can too!

Although this story is completely true, I'll be sure to check back, add some
pr's for lifts as training progresses too and think this thread is a great idea.

    Stay motivated!

    I did 1 pushup

yep, that is it, 15 months ago I was 400 lbs and couldn't do one with a cheat knee style. after all the time of dropping weight a month ago I started lifting as well as cardio. I started out on the bench with just the bar for weight. monday I go in knowing that I will put 25lbs on either side as well. in one short month, I gained 50lbs on my bench. and I did a pushup for the first time straight back, the way you should. I did it, and I struggled to do it. but it felt ****ing amazing. Like I could take on anything.

one guy i work out with used to weigh over 220 at roughly 5'9". and couldnt do a cheat push up. after 5 months or so of hitting the gym he is 175, can bench 185x1, and can do 5 pushups, and all it has done is piss him off and fuel him to get farther and push harder.

you've made awesome progress man, do work!

flat benched 2 X 80lb Dumbbells for 6 this weekend. DOn't think its the most I've ever pressed but I do think its the most I've ever done with dumbbells.
You may delay, but time will not.
Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.
Don’t wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.
Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is the only cash you have, so spend it wisely.
If you do give up though just think. The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up.

This is awesome man! I love pressing db's. I don't know about your gym but mine has thicker handles for db's 90 and over, one thing that motivated me to keep at db presses was graduating to the big boy handles. This thread gets me pumped up.

solid thread, I got a 275 parallel squat a week ago which is 30 pounds up from my previous. about a month ago I also hit a 405 deadlift, felt great loading up 4 plates a side. I like to focus on either squat or deadlift on 4-8 week cycles, whichever I'm feeling good on. when i stall, I go to the other. weights just keep goin up!

It's better to hit 395 four weeks in a row and then crush 415 than to try and jump up early and pull something. Good luck dude let me know how it goes.
Yeah for sure man. I'm not sure if I'll be hitting it for awhile though since that 405 attempt was at the very end of my bulk. Now I'm diving into a cut so I expect a drop in strength soon (although I've been hitting PR's the last few workouts)
