Do you lose most Creatine gains after you stop using it?

I have heard this rumor nonstop: one loses the gains they had while using creatine once they stop using it and essentially "pee" their gains away.

You keep the strength and muscle gains that you got from the increased muscle recovery and energy that creatine provides. However, you lose the muscle saturation and temporary strength that it gives you. So in a nutshell, you keep your gains but lose the temporary effects.
