lol good luck with nursing at least in accounting they treat you like humans and you can get water and go to the bathroom.
my gf is a nurse and she has to pretty much hold her pee in for 8+ hours
and half the time she doesn't get a break at all because its that busy.
And which profession has the most back injuries? you guessed it nursing
not construction not truck driving

everyones situation is different. but noone should drop out of your major because of what you suspect will happen. some people work for the same company, but get assigned different jobs and therefore have very different experiences.
i graduated from college with two offers from 2 of the big 4. i went with EY.
o yea, my cumulative gpa was somewhere in the 3.2 range, but my accounting gpa was 3.5 or so. even after accepting my offer i FAILED a class. i thought i would lose my job, but they still gave me my offer. but then again, how many graduating students been to iraq and back and done 6 years in the USMC. and there is no doubt i was the best interviewer.
i left after 8 months, but i would do it again, because LIFE is about trying and learning new things. nothing is wrong with leaving. but always have a plan B and plan C. im going to soon be a police officer and maybe one day be a part of the FBI.
any questions about being a 1st year at a Big 4, PM me and ill be happy to answer.USMC 2003-2009

your classic fresh out of college working for the big-4 is treated subhuman at best. you're a small fish in a huge pond where 80% of the fish (or whatever the turnover rate it) won't be there outside of 3-5 years.
it's a cutthroat industry. no hate though, I couldn't do it, and the money can be epic.WINTER IS COMING

I don't see how this can be right...
For Big4 (obviously the high end) starting salary with a 4 year degree is 55-60k plus 5k end of year and once you get a CPA you make closer to 100k/year fairly quickly.
I considered doing accounting as a backup to finance and I still think it's one of the best ways to start a career. Also, I have met some very quiet and boring accountants but I also know some very colorful people (including a former pro tennis player with an outgoing personality) who go into accounting.
But yeah, I agree it would be boring as ****

don't know what to tell you. the existential crisis won't go away. i'm in my 7th year of practice, work at a BigLaw firm, make what most here would consider a ****load of money (i think) but i am constantly thinking about either starting my own firm or just switching to music or writing novels. my job has at least given me options and a nice life so far (in terms of security), but i'm a transactional lawyer so the time behind the computer accounts for about 99% of my time. good luck.

Sorta, I've been getting 2-3 days per week on average since i started in September. I've put myself on a maintenance routine until the summer hits and my hours reduce.
Like most people who start work at big4, im using this job as a stepping stone to a job that has better hours and high pay. Yes, this job is can be miserable at times but it is instilling one hell of a work ethic in me and I'm learning a ton.
Very stressed out though...boobs ftw

Whats the recruiting process like? My school has a career fair coming up soon, so I want to have some idea of what to do. Do you just walk around and talk to people? Or do you schedule appointments for interviews or something?
People who got internships, would you care to tell me the process you went through? Thanks
