5 days cough- blood, mucus, chunks from Sinuses and maybe chest. Mucinex helps. Mostly when I wake up it is at the worst. Not much blood in the mix after that as my day goes on. Pretty sure it is a sinus infection, which, from what I have read thus far, is indicative of a fungal infection in the nose lining or air sacs or something. Also read sinus infection recoveries are 1-4 weeks non-medicated, but the reoccurring sufferers are often only treated for the infection and not the cause, potentially yeast or fungus. Many many people are not diagnosed properly and just given anti-biotics.
So, I am looking at antilfungals to ingest. Anyone have any bright ideas? I have read some probiotics help, but not sure what all to ingest exactly.
Some may find this gross. Frankly, so do I. But it is no more sick than people that get cold sores on their faces (or worse places). It could be worse, so I take it with a grain of salt and put it out there.
What's good at cleaning out the a) respiratory issues now and b) treating the microbial/fungal issue that appears to be prolonged.

These are just some of the websites with potential solutions on them, but I am not as big a health and herb nut as I should be.
Anyone with insight and advice, please chime in. Anti-biotics only decrease my natural immunity in the long wrong, so I am hoping I can combat this herbally and keep it from happening again. I just quit smoking cigarettes (weekend rebel) for good right around the time I got sick.
Jump rope is my cardio of choice and I want to get well and back ASAP.
Thanks.

Seen one, just wanted to put me on his ole faithful anti-biotic, which I had taken before for a similar cold came back 2 months later. 2nd opinion.
Well, I am one of those Americans without health insurance. Kinda went with being unemployed for 8 months last year, and hence, why I reach out on a free forum with a health concern. If you can't be good, be good at it. I'd rather you be good. The world needs good people.

I mean, it says I can fight this on my own, just might take 4 weeks.
Biggest thing I just read is eliminate sugar! Here I was drinking juices. The sugar feeds microbes and what not. Interesting reads. I hate coconut, but coconut is supposed to be good for this type of stuff.. Supposed.....If you can't be good, be good at it. I'd rather you be good. The world needs good people.

Hey, thank you for the reply. I need to check this site more often. I was pretty sick for a few weeks, but I did beat it on my own. B vitamin, lots of C, and yes, nutritional veggies helped big time. I will add Ginger next time and see if it speeds recovery. Oh, zinc lozenges helped too.
Cheers! If you can't be good, be good at it. I'd rather you be good. The world needs good people.
