    Still can't bend either arm all the way after lifting 4 days ago

    I haven't lifted for almost 8 months, and last thursday was my first day back, and I did chest and tris. I didn't think I went that hard at all, but both my arms feel completely fatigued and weak still, and I can't bend my either of my arms more than 90 degrees because it is still so sore and hurts too much. WTF did i do? The last 4 days have been hell, just sitting there and doing nothing constantly hurts because I'm still so damn sore and fatigued.

    Take an oral non-steroidal anti-inflamatory (NSAID) until you feel better (2~3 days). Be aware it will slow down the healing process but you will have almost no pain.

    Thanks. Also how can I make this not happen? Like cut my workout in half (reps/time/everyting) until I don't get sore anymore? I feel like I'm gonna lose an entire week now

    I would recommend incorporating at least 50mL of semen into your post workout shake, it will aid the muscle recovery

    Same happened to me.. It was agonizingly painful.. Just standing and having my arms hanging down my sides hurt really bad..I constantly stretched them as much as i could.. Went away a couple days later hasnt come back..

    Its just DOMs and it wont come back after the first couple workouts

    I get sore all the time from lifting, never still hurt as bad on day 4 as it did the first day though without getting better. I've also never been able to not bend my arms like this. It feels like it's broken if I try to fight past the pain and bend it

    ..Like i said, I have an IDENTICAL experience..It will pass and eventually you won't get it again. Unless you fukked up a lift and think u might have broken it, sounds like your just overreacting

    Also to the guy that said lift through it, only a moron would go to the gym feeling like this and not even being able to use my arms 100%. That sounds like a great way to make it even worse

    Ibuprofren + stretching + hot/cold compounds = win

    Hot baths will help too. It's just DOMS...everyone gets it the first time back in the gym whether you have lifted before or not.
    16 week cut: Start 165lbs 20%. Target 145lbs 10%

    1/17/2011 = 165 ~20%

    You didn't lift in a while your muscles aren't used to that load anymore. Start from lighter weights and progress every week a few pounds. Don't forget to stretch. This can really help.

    Is DOMS different than regular soreness? I always feel a little sore even when I'm lifting regualrly, but it's not enough to make me complain or keep me out of the gym most of the time, and if it is one day at most, not a whole week.

    I was benching 200 x 8 right before I stopped, and I was doing 145 x 6 the other day which wasn't super easy but also wasn't very hard, should I be benching like 100 lbs or something though until I'm really back into it? This is a PITA
