    mcdonalds cheat meal question

if im gonna make mcdonalds my once a week cheat meal am i better off having a plain double cheeseburger or a small fries. i know theyre both terrible for you, but i like them equally as much, so which is the lesser of the two evils health wise?

The cheeseburger would at least have some protein...and, while fries are tasty, a cheeseburger seems far more satisfying to me.

If you do a cheat meal do it with the most food that you love.
Don't ask us what is more tasty or more "healthy" then other, cheat meals don't need to be healthy just eat whatever you like.
I'd go to Cheesecake Factory (oh god its delicious)

I know the cheat meal is supposed to be unhealthy, but i just want to keep it limited in terms of quantity. For example, if I were to eat 1200 calories of mcdonalds as my cheat meal I'd be getting one third of my calories for that day from the cheat meal, which seems like too high a percent if the cheat meal is once every single week.

1 cheat meal a week, will not hault your progress, as long as you keep it to "1" cheat meal. Enjoy yourself.

Since its a cheat meal, it wont be doing any harm but as long as its not a "cheat day" . People tend to get carried away when ordering in fast food since everything is made for you in a matter of minutes.

Id go for a cheat meal that is at least not completely junk such as Chicken burger(i know, mutated chicken but at least its chicken :P). Just my 2 cents

only a small part of the meat at mcdonalds is actual meat. besides all of their "meat" products are loaded with fat and have hardly any protein.

Why have a cheat meal every week?

Why not have a cheat meal when you have done something (training / diet wise) to deserve it ?

A double cheeseburger with small fries is just 670 calories, with 30 grams of protein.

If you really wanted to you could eat both of them every single day, and still be cutting.

It's no problem, really... I just ate a big mac menu with an extra big mac and I don't feel bad in the slightest. Eat a little less for the rest of the day (some tuna and stuff maybe for max protein to calorie ratio) and you'll be fine! :-)

    It's not worth worrying imo

they both suck... but cheeseburger for it's protein content.

Ever thought about making you own burgers? whole wheat buns with lean beef, swiss cheese.

Fast food is a weak cheat. I personally would rather have something higher quality. You can cheat and still be healthy about it. Ben and Jerry's is all natural...

I was thinking the same thing, but hey, who am I to critique someone's taste. I personally cheat with monster burrittos or a whole large New York style pizza (and NOT some corporate Dominoes or Pizza Hut pie, Im talking small neighborhood pizza joint).

If and when I cheat, I have to make it worth while. IMO McDonald's is not a great cheat for my taste. Would much rather have some epic breakfast tacos (which are not awful, since they are loaded with eggs, cheese, and potatoes), or a huge super monster from Freebirds!

double cheese burger being terrible is news to me, well i get it plain though basically just the two patties and the bun with lettuce in between it has good amount of protein and not that many calories maybe like 400 and close to 30 g protein. I eat almost daily at Mcdonalds but i only make healthy picks like the grilled chicken snack wrap without cheese/sauce (tastes better without that stuff to, since the meat is juicy as fuc*k at the one i go to) thats like 200 cal 15g protein 3 g fat good ratio.

Only thing between the 2 for me would be what I was craving at the time + trans fats (reading about the fries and trans fats throws me off nowadays lol).

But as PBateman said, McFlurry ftw (you can make your own style burgers normally! cheat on ice cream haha)

Duuuuude...I'm all for good quality cheat meals, but come on! If it actually fits into your daily calorie goals, how is it even "cheating"??? lol
