Damn! You beat me to it...

On a more serious note, raisins (or dried fruit in general) are very calorically dense. 1/4 cup is about 130 kcals and it is mostly simple sugar. If I were you I would stick to whole/unprocessed fruit. You will be able to eat more (volume wise) and this will keep you more satisfied. 1/4 cup of raisins isn't much...

I eat raisins on a cut/ off a cut or any time I please. It's just fine if you hit your macros. And 1/4 cup of raisins is a ton of raisins. 1/2 cup of oats, 1/4 cup of raisins and 1 cup milk makes for a good breakfast.

Macros are the key to a cut.

That sounds like the worst breakfast I've ever heard. OP eat whatever you want, as stated above, total calories for the day is what matters.

Most raisins are drenched with table sugar, too. I'd look for the unsweetened variety.

If I eat whatever I want, just to get my calories right, I will not lose weight as fast as I am now.
For example, when my carbs are too high, I won't drop weight as fast.

I know raisins are a decent carb source, but was just wondering wether or not it would be good in a cut since all of the carbs are sugar.

I doubt this is true. People who eat sugar-related foods as carb intake, lose weight way slower than people who eat carbs from oats, rice,...

How about some whole grain pasta? I prefer the taste over regular pasta and it makes for a great carb source.

You'll lose weight, if you're at a deficit, yes. Body composition is another story.

Yes as far as body composition. Healthwise and fullness no. But simply as a weight loss tool cals and macros matter. You can eat ANY food you want. As I said before please read the stickies and other posts. This is discussed in the vast majority of threads.

My understanding is that fructose/glucose should be limited during a refeed and starches give you a better carb-up. I use mainly bagels, pancakes, and low-sugar cereal.
