I'm confused. Has it been surgically repaired or just diagnosed?

I dont know how severe your tear is but if surgery is not an option and pain isnt too bad try sitting down and simply straightening out your leg with the injured knee. Do sets of ten or so going from bent 90 degrees at knee to full extension(make sure u go very slowly). Also if u can stand ok raise your injured knee as high as you can(almost like a pitcher with a high leg kick) and slowly lower it back down.

I had a torn mcl last year(not bad enough to require surgery) and I did these exercises and was walking normally in a few weeks and recovered fully in about two months(with more intense rehab later). If your injury is like mine you may find straightening your leg fully very difficult or impossible at first but just have patience and do as much as you can without aggravating your knee(you shouldnt feel pain doing these exercises). Im not a doctor but this really helped me recover very quickly. Hopefully you have a quick and smooth recover.

knees are no joke, I had a ACL pull itself from my tibia with a chunk of bone still attached... surgery and many many months of rehab. just take it easy, and remember you can always make payments, if you need the surgery, get it.
