    There is no "best"

    chocolate milk is great but

I personally have oats + egg whites, fish + veggies + rice or proats (but you said no supplements) usually in that order (egg whites + oats more often than fish etc)

You want to get a good balance of complex carbs and good proteins after your workout. I would recommend something like a cup of cottage cheese and some fruit, or 2 yogurt cups, a protein shake and some veggies or fruit, or chicken breast and whole grain pasta or bread.

The focus should be on proper daily nutrition, as total caloric intake and macro/micronutrient sufficiency will have a profound effect on bodyweight and composition, where a post workout meal will have functionally no impact beyond it's contribution to daily nutrition (assuming you're not in a depleted state and/or are engaging in multiple bouts of intensive intraday exercise).

Bigass turkey and cheese sandwich with a glass of milk. Doesn't really make a difference that I eat it PWO, I just happen to find it extremely satisfying at that time.
    My guilty pleasure: excessive cardio.

Progress towards the 1000 lb club: 945/1000
Bulking until I hit 1000. I don't care if it takes a 40 pound weight gain. No more pussyfooting around.

i enjoy my cereal treats after workout, usually mixed with milk and whey. In your case if you dont want the supplements just have more milk

Also like others said.. Chocolate milk is awesome!!!
