Yeah, like those tribes in South America that chew on the coca leaves and can run barefoot throught the jungle and mountains for like 3 days straight. I was watching Science Channel or something the other day and they were saying that some of those guys can run like over 100 miles at a time or some other crazy number like that...

I'm pretty much the average female, i'm not fat or stupidly skinnny, i'm not buff or covered with outstainding muscles. I'm pretty sure i'm an average height and weight but i'll have to dig out the scales (and I'm not american, for everyone asking average american etc)
The last time i ran i managed 1.56 km non-stop and about 1.6 km is a mile, but it it killed me and i'm in high school.

To be honest, i think it all comes down to willpower at the end. Some people stop when they get tired or get a cramp because their just not up for that. Then again, after the cramp your pretty much free to jog until your legs start to hurt. The most i've run is around 8 miles, which isn't really a lot, but compared to most people its descent. I would say the average excluding all the factors would be around 1/2 to 1 mile.

Depends on the person. It would be different for different people. Motivation has a lot to do with it as well. If you were to win a million bucks if you ran a certain distance your likely hood of making it will be a lot higher. I dislike long distance running though, boring and pointless.

If you can only run 1/4 mile you have weak will, not a poor cardio system. I'm pretty sure I've seen the biggest loser contestants bust out a mile or more at 300+ plus and absolutely miserable physical condition. Furthermore, I'd be willing to bet that the lack of mental toughness that has you quitting after a 1/4 mile is the same cause for all kinds of disappointments in your life.
