Do you guys include it regularly in your diets? If so how often? I have used it for about 5 months and has helped supress hunger a lot. Wanted to see if anyone else had any info they would like to share about it.

Is it true that brown digests slower and isn't instant like white rice? I would prefer to eat white, I just cut it out because I know that most white things are not healthy for the most part.

I prefer white rice and eat it several times a week... white rice is easier to cook, tastes better & is cheaper.
As we know glycemic index has zero impact on fat gain or fat loss, I can't imagine a scenario in which brown rice would be preferential other than someone just really loves the taste.
Also I recall Alan posting a study awhile back showing that in an isocaloric diet young men had slightly better nitrogen retention when they consumed white rice when compared to brown rice. I would personally like to see further research on such things as hypothetically this might imply that GI could have a microscopic impace on body composition... in the exact opposite direction of what the bro-community believes... meaning carbs that cause a larger insulin spike might actually be slightly more muscle/protein sparing when in a caloric deficit, which would of course imply that if one is maintaingly a fraction more muscle when on an isocaloric diet those extra 5 calories a day must come from somewhere and that somewhere has a high probability of being from adipose stores. Now granting suggusting such a thing off such limited data is extremely bro-sciencey so I am not suggesting it... only that there is room for further research here.

ok dude. brown rice is A LOT better for your health. basically, they get the brown rice and cut all the hull and nutrients (the top layer) and it becomes the white rice. after stripping it off, white rice doesnt have much nutrients, but nowadays the government requires them to add vitamins in them (i learned in my nutrition class in college). i forgot which ones they are required to add to the white rice... i think it was like vitamin B1, and something else i dont know. Brown rice has Vitamin B1, B2,B3,B12, folic acid, iron, fiber, etc..., which white rice doesnt have when stripped. the vitamins are added later. EVEN when added, they still lack 5 or so other vitamins and nutrients that the brown rice has. white rice is missing so many vitamins and nutrients. i just choose brown rice for healthier reasons, not the taste. FOOD IS FUEL my friend. let the muscles grow.

Why are you concerned about what digests the "fastest"? You should eat what YOU like, everyone have their preference. I personally love the taste of brown rice and it helps me feel full.... I however cant do oats... the satiety feeling is way to strong. Your commissary (Marines or Army will have an equivalent on base, not sure if they're called the same) should have rice... brown or white. Maybe not organic. When it comes to organic, foods tend to me more nutrient dense compared to its processed form; but in reference to body composition, it doesn't matter rice you eat.
You are what you eat!

when i was on my cut i would eat alot of brown rice...less calories
cup of brown rice = 218
cup of white rice = 242
when i would cook the rice i would let the rice soak for an hour in the rice cooker...drain the water add the correct amount of water, add some chunky salsa and serving of black beans pretty tasty tbhRunner Crew (48.6 miles Dopey Challenge -- Completed)
