i voted for 1 billion, because this will happen if i choose the other option:
-stop starvation in africa
-world population increases even more rapidly
-resources of the world dwindle
-starvation in other countries, including a downward spiral in africa
-more war, famine, disease
-cyclical

Easy. Split it up 250 mill to myself and give up the other 750.
You can feed people for like a penny a day, so I assume 750 million will do something.
EDIT: **** I just looked it up and did the math if it cost $0.25 per day to feed one person, it would cost $80,000,000 per day to keep all of Africa fed.

If it's all or nothing, I'll have to take the money as much as I hate to do so. If possible, I will give maybe 900 mil to Africa and the world and keep 100 mil for myself. Seeing that amount of money that I can never attain and seeing it all disappear even for a good cause, just couldn't go through with it.

Quick question. By what means do you plan on ending starvation?
Because by the looks of it, the choice is:
- Get 1 billion dollars to do whatever you wish
- Mandate cannibalism
brb, getting billion and donating it left and right to research organizations(HIV, ALS, Cancer), scholarship funds, and helping the poor.
There is a TV show right now where millionaires are dressed up as homeless people and they go chill with other homeless people to see who is doing most of their community, and then give those homeless people like $20,000 bucks for having a good heart.

The end hunger part is no contest... I live just fine as is, and savings the lives of millions of people would feelgoodman.
But then, after you miraculously end hunger in Africa, you live like a fat rat on the book/lecture circuit, making millions each year off book sales and interviews.Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

Also you get laid left and right, and probably have a big castle in Africa filled with women/followers due to your godly deeds.
At first you will be happy to have done this fine deed and everyone will be happy for you. But lets not forget, there is that dark glimmer in your soul that you know you will use it to your advantage. After all thats why we find ourselves here in the misc.
This praise by a billion people of the continent and those outside of it will drive you to develop a cult following, in which the followers will sacrifice themselves for you, give up everything they own for you, and even die for you.
Ohhhh what a wonderful feeling to have such power that money cannot simply buy. It can drive a man to madness. Enough so to start a militant power to defend yourself from those who wish to kill you to get fame. Eventually you will become a dictator of an African nation, although you didn't intend on it, the madness and paranoia that followed your fame will get the best of you.
With your sex filled cult taking the best of you, you'll one day find yourself in tears in your gigantic castle in a bed with 80 women, as you think back and say to yourself "Why didn't I take the billion dollars and escape this malicious following which was granted to me from a good deed?"

People voting for ending starvation do not seem to realise that ending world hunger is a very very bad thing.
Have fun with 10x the problems with extreme overpopulation.
From an objective point of view, the more others that die the better (inb4 people dont know what objectivity means)(inb4 people take this statement to its extreme when its obvious this only applies up to a certain point).
