Well op, I had mine done this morning, don't remember much after the injections into the iv, and then giving me a blanket. The walk out to the car is a little fuzzy along with the ride home. They sent me home with an ice pack pretty sure I was sleeping half the ride, got home hit the recliner and passed out again... My mom keeps trying to make me eat but that's the last thing on my mind. I took the gauze out at about 11:30 or so and seeing all the blood made me cry... So I finally broke down and took a pain pill got another ice back and fell back asleep... I'm pretty dizzy and my left lower jaw is the worst out of alll the other 4 sections. Hurts to swallow and open my mouth. You can't spit rince or use a straw. My jaw is throbbing... I'm pretty swollen and still pretty numb in places... I'll keep you updated.

So guys the day finally came and I got my teeth taken out this morning...
my stomach was in knots all the way to the clinic, and when the nurse was putting my IV in she kept asking me if I was ok, I heard one of the other ones say "shes so clamy" which made me feel worse... I think I was having a mini panic attack..
but within 30 seconds the anesthetic had entred my blood stream and I was pretty much gone..
I dont remember anything really except my bf trying to get me out of the car at home... he managed to drag me inside, feed me some pumpkin soup and then I slept for a couple of hours..
Im not really in alot of pain yet, the numbness is still there and ive dosed up on di-gesic tabs...
thanks for everyones advice... hopefully i have a speedy recovery!!!!

my swelling isnt too bad atm... ive been putting one of those mini ice packs on each of my cheeks, so i think thats helping..
but my pain is heaps bad right now, since the numbness wore away... i took a few pain killers but i dont think they are helping.. plus to top it off its like 40 degrees today and I cant even drink / eat cold stuff..

like pumpkin pie flavored ice cream heres how I make mine:
a few big scoops of canned pumpkin (maybe 3/4-1 cup)
couple heaping tablespoons of peanut butter
1 frozen ripe banana, cut up
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
cinnamon, some salt, nutmeg, some pumpkin pie spice (just eye ball it)
milk or water
3-4 ice cubes
tastes damn good give it a shotA million miles away - I don't.. feel.... anything.

I had all 4 pulled. It wasn't that bad. I had laughing gas. It made me feel sick, like I was going to puke. I thought oh no. I think I'm going to be sick and I can't tell them. I tried telling them to turn it down they were like more? More? Yeesh. Anyway the worst part was after. I was in the waiting room waiting for my mom to come get me. I had gauze in my mouth to help stop the bleeding. I couldn't feel anything from the neck up. People were staring at me like I was a monster. One kid started to cry and his mom took him to another chair away from me. My mom came and took one look at me and said go to the bathroom and look in the mirror. I was drooling blood out of my mouth onto my white shirt. Blood everywhere. It looked so scary. I really don't know why nobody said anything???

some people recover VERY quickly!! My husband was good after a day or so and he had the IV to get all 4 of his out.
When I was 17 I had my bottom two out because they were impacted. Only got the gas since my insurance sucked. Gas made me sick and I vomited on the way home. That SUCKED!!!! HORRIBLY bad. Then I got dry socket and it seemed every time I got in a vehicle for the next few days I threw up. So yea I had hell for 2 weeks.
THEN last yea my top one started to hurt like CRAZY and I noticed it had a hole in it.. hah.. so I finally went to the dentist again and he referred me to the oral surgeon. yeeaaa insurance wouldn't cover ANYTHING other than numbing me since we opted to just to the one tooth..... Well the dick head (sorry no other word for him) surgeon numbed me by jabbing the damn needle into my mouth.. The nurse even felt sorry for me. Then no lie 3 min later he came back to pull it. The nurse said uhm her already? He said "yes lets go". uhhh... OH MY GOD!!!! He grabbed it.. about twisted my head off and yanked. The nurse gasped and grabbed my hand. She ran and got me some OJ and put oxygen on me and told me to lay back. I guess I was a bit white?? She didn't want to let me up and I just wanted the hell out of there. SHE had to tell the doc to write me something for pain. I walked out not 5 min later and my husband was shocked. He said "what did you chicken out?" I said.. no.. the dickhead did it already.
worst experience EVER! And I already despise doctors at this point.
I told my dentist (REALLY good guy and is awesome with numbing me I can't feel it at all) and he said he's heard that once before and he will no longer let his patients be seen by that doctor. He said HE would pull my other one for me I didn't feel anything when he did it! I wanted to hug the man lol
See why I ignore all "see a doctor" comments? lol

I just had four of my wisdoms out last month (Jan 6th)
Tips:
Whatever pain meds they give you. I was given ********s and I really need them.
Buy a jumbo thing of advil
DO NOT use straws, the sucking action will pull your stitches
Make protein shakes to keep you full and the protein helps with tissue repair
Use ice packs (covered in a towel) on your cheeks
You will drool -> learn to love itLast edited by AshleyMCH; 02-03-2011 at 08:47 AM. Reason: Grammatical error

Yea protein shakes really helped! It took a week for the swelling to go down, it was really bad for me. Since I had all four out I had intense swelling - it almost looked like I had stretch marks on my face.
As for the gym I think it was about five days later. I had to be careful because I grunt a lot when I lift (it helps me :-)) so I had to make sure I didn't grunt too intensely and damage my stitches.

Glad to hear yours went well..
Mine are MUCH better now.. I completely lost my appetite and I had pretty bad pain for the first week (week and a half maybe).. I went back to my dentist and he put this seaweed stuff in my holes, it was honestly the worst thing I ever tasted, I gagged the whole drive back to my mums...
but it helped with the pain..
Im glad its all over though, I would hate to go through that again..

My son has his done a while back. When we got in the car as I was backing out of he told me he was about to throw up. I pulled back into the parking space, jumped out opened the door. He looked at me and asked what are you doing. I told him he said he was about to throw up. He said he didnt tell me he was about to throw up, lets go home. I got back in the car, put it into reverse and he covered the whole back seat, looked up at me and said I told you I was going to throw up!

All 4 of my wisdome teeth are gone now, alone with a cyst that was on my gum.
Little to no swelling/bruising so far. Minor pain in my lower jaw which was to be expected. Those two wisdom teeth were really impacted. One of them was on its side, lying horizontal. I'm pretty sure that one had to be sectioned.
Anyway, I think the ******** is kicking in so I'm going back to sleep. Thanks for all the well wishes!Me vs. Me: Lifting with UCTD: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=170084343
