I learned about NFL players using deer antler velvet extract and started to do some research. I haven't gotten a lot of good information out of google and thought I'd try forums.
Has anyone used this stuff?
It contains IGF-1, which is a type of HGH, from my understanding. So it's basically HGH but legal or hard to detect? If so, it doesn't sound that safe.
Feedback is appreciated.

According to this link, NFL players use it and say it works well for them.

Deer Antler Velvet in the USA is FDA approved for general consumption and its manufacture is under USDA supervision. It has never been classified as a PED by any of these organizations. If the NFL classified it as a PED, they didn't get their info from the FDA or USDA or any other food & drug regulatory government agency. It is classified as a dietary supplement and treated with the same regard by these said organizations as all those 'natural and organic' herbal supplements that have shown up everywhere in retail stores in recent years.
There is no official documentation or scientific publication proving that it improves performance or muscle synthesis like its marketing hype says it does. (at least I haven't found any that didn't involve some 'anonymous' commercial lab employed by the manufacturers of the deer velvet extract themselves). *hint* *hint* They make the same claims as the rest of those other organic herbal supplements do.
IGF-1 is a naturally occurring protein (amino acids) in the human body, produced by the liver and endocrine systems. Every mammal and healthy human under the age of 30 naturally produces this substance in abundance. Probably why they have a hard time developing a test for anyone who is using it because they can't distinguish it from natural production, unless you're old. It gradually tapers off with age.
Pharmaceutical grade, lab produced IGF-1 is used in the clinical treatment of arthritis and joint ailments, relieves some symptoms of Diabetes and Lou Gehrig's Disease and ailments involving growth hormone deficiencies. Incidentally, pharmaceutical grade IGF-1 is also used to test for gigantism and dwarfism.
IGF-1 is present in deer antler velvet, but it is debated if oral ingestion of the velvet powder or extract is a viable mode of absorption of IGF-1.
You can find deer antler velvet (powder, pill or spray) on the shelves in most organic health food stores next to the rest of the herbal supplements or Google deer antler velvet and you'll literally find hundreds, and of course, you will find it still on the antler at any Chinese apothecary. They love the stuff as a youth tonic or aphrodesiac tea and have been using it for centuries. (stay away from the dried tiger penis and dried yak loin, they smell something horrible! LOL)
Personally, I've tried HGH and DAV for a couple of months, years ago when I hit 30 and was self conscious that I wasn't 20-something anymore, but I got over it. I have nothing remarkable to report. I'm 42 now and I've had better results with the whey protein and creatine products that almost everyone seems to be using, so take that for whatever it is worth.

Horse urine, gorrilla semen, many bodily fluids have hormones, but it is hard for a single person alone to get the fluids and extract the hormones properly.
Deer Antlers is just the beginning. This I think is way better than artificial man made stuff. I know for a fact Stallone did Gorilla Hormones, but they cost through the roof. It is like buying a car everytime you buy 1 bottle. So of course gotta have money.
Chinese have used deer antler sliced up in pieces for centuries to heal joints and strengthen muscles. I use to get a whole pack from chinese market real cheap. You just put it under your tongue and suck on it and then after about 30 min you can chew it and swallow it. No side effects ever.

Deer Antler has something really special about it!
I used one pill for male enhancement, and while performing those basic exercises my entire body received a nice pump; especially my glutes and hamstrings. The package was a free sample and it stated: "If you are new to deer antler only take one pill for the entire day!" I did and POW, it was no joke. My muscles were on swole for about 2 days and since I only wanted results for libido it was more than what I bargained for. I can't wait to start a steady routine using this stuff, so I've decided to promote it myself.
