    Should I discontinue before surgery

I am getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth out on Friday morning. I will be going under and was wondering if i should discontinue my supplement use. I am currently taking White Flood, Green Mag, whey post workout shake, and UP 2.0 before bed.

Will the White Flood or Green Mag have any adverse effects with the anesthesia. I have never been put under before. I also am prone to high blood pressure (some check ups im slightly high, some i'm normal).. thinking about stopping white flood and green mag this week leading up.. thoughts?

Actually, the UP 2.0 will be awesome once you have your teeth out and can't chew any solid food for a while.

You should have discussed your supplement use with your doctor during the pre op appointment where he discussed the risks and you scheduled the surgery.

If you are going under anesthesia, you really should discontinue all supplements. Some ingredients can interefere with blood clotting and other body functions that are required for a successful surgery.

The smart thing to do is to call your doctors office today and explain what you have been taking and that you will cease immediately. They may say no problem or they may want to reschedule your surgery. Either way, better to be informed than to risk possible complications.

I just had them taken out Good Luck pretty Painful not going to lie or scare you I was out of the Gym for only about a week. The Pain is really bad the first 2 days then it just kinda hurts on and off make sure to have those pain killers handy. One more thing make sure you stock up on protein shakes because it will be hard to chew for a week.

true.. would have discussed it with them if there was a pre op meeting... dentist told me i needed surgery during a checkup.. referred me to the surgeon.. called the surgeon that day and that was that.. all they need are your x-rays sent over by your dentist.. Since it is a common surgery is there anyone that had a similar situation with cycleing supps around your surgery?

Make sure you don't rush into hitting the gym to early things could get worse. I would take atleast 1 week off then start hitting it hard again. Since it will be hard to chew for a few days make sure you drink protein shakes so you can atleast get those calories in Soup is a good option to.

P.S : My family lives in Wilmette,IL So after my dolphins the bears are my second favorite team that sucks you cant go but I bet you will feel alot better when they go to the super bowl.

Even discontinue the multi. Some multis have ingredients that doctors prefer you not have pre surgery.

You're full of ****. Third year med student my ass.

And ask any surgeon or anesthesiologist if he's ok with a potent dose of caffeine as well as other ingredients that promote vasodilation taken pre surgery. You're a tool, gtfo!

Keep posting and expose your ignorance. Many ingredients can exert their effects far beyond the window when immediate effects are felt. Surgeons require blood thinners like aspirin to be discontinued 2 or more weeks out.

The only clinicals you're involved in are either you selling plasma for twinkie money or participating in experimental treatment trials for your antisocial propensities.

The very fact that you're not advising OP to consult his doc and instead you're giving him you're "ok" prove that not only are you not premed but also that you're a moron.

IMO. I'm not an oral surgeon.

    White Flood:
caffeine- you already have sketchy BP
arginine- potential to increase blood flow

Although 1 daily dose combined with the short ½ life would not likely be a problem, I would still hold it for a couple of days pre-op just to be on the safe side

    Green Mag:
Creatine could actually help in the healing process.

Will the White Flood or Green Mag have any adverse effects with the anesthesia. I have never been put under before. I also am prone to high blood pressure (some check ups im slightly high, some i'm normal).. thinking about stopping white flood and green mag this week leading up.. thoughts?
Instead of relying on people on an internet message board who may or may not know what they're talking about, I would recommend talking to your oral surgeon AND pharmacist, and see what they have to say.

My SO is a board certified general surgeon and says talk to your oral surgeon, but would tell a patient stop everything but the protein.

U fascinated with homos? Sure seems like it.

Believe me, starkk and I have no interest in stalking you. But we do take particular interest in calling out your bs. Med student you are not and intelligent advice in this thread you are not giving out. If I really wanted to stalk you I'm sure I could find a plethora of your posts where you are talking out your ass and spouting garbage.

The irony of it is that you're probably the guy flipping burgers and gay yet you want to project those characteristics on others that you don't like online. Nice job Joe. What exactly are you "pumping" anyway? LOL.

    I do agree though

Thanks for the input guys.. couldnt get a hold of my surgeon yesterday and the receptionist had no idea obviously ha, just told me to make sure i dont eat 12 hours prior to surgery.. Not taking anything too crazy.. just the white flood and green mag so i think i should be fine with just the one week off of everything. My last supplement dose was last thursday so I'll just continue with no supps until I'm fully recovered.
