Like getting his ass handed to him, do you see him as less of a man?

I've never seen my bf fight. I honestly do not like, or "get", the idea of guys beating the sh!t out of each other.
Unless someone swung first/came at me/his mom/etc, I would expect him to walk away. I definitely wouldn't think of him as less manly for that. I would rather not see him hit someone/be hit, period.

It's only alpha if the guy really did offend your gf AND it isn't clear whether you could kick his ass or not. It's much more alpha to walk away from a fight regardless of the situation if you know it's a foregone conclusion that you could take the guy. There's nothing alpha about beating the sh/t out of some dude in order to prove something to the people around you, because this means you're either an idiot or you doubt your "alphaness", so you have to prove it to yourself by beating the sh/t out of some pissant.
But if the guy has challenged you or whatever, and he appears to be an even match and so forth, then taking him on IS alpha. It's called facing down your fear. In the above scenario, facing down your fear is walking away since you really should have nothing to prove to yourself in that situation and alphas don't react based on some warped need to prove something to others.
So all you douches who think beating the snot out of some emaciated punk just because he called your slam-piece gf a slut, well, that's simply not alpha. It's MUCH more alpha to get the piss beat out of you standing up for yourself or your friend/gf if the outcome of the fight is in doubt based on the guy's size or whatever. Yeah, that's right. Wrap your brains around THAT harsh reality broskis.would this to be an accurate representation of bodybuilder

I don't agree with everything you have said, but find myself agreeing more and more. This response is spot on. Reps good sir.
I do not go around looking for a fight, and it takes A LOT to provoke me, but given the situation, I would hope I could rise to the occasion and take care of bidnesssss. That said, my lady has told me she'd be pissed if I fought a dude for no reason, but would be glad I did in an act of protection of her/family/friends.

My bf happens to be a martial arts expert, and I've never seen him lose a fight, but because he's an expert, he would look like a complete twat if he lost, so it's kind of a double edged sword. He's a doorman as well so he often gets attacked by drunken idiots, all of whom he dispatches in seconds. I love it, I feel safe and protected. It's a turn on.

It's probably circumstancial. If the opponent is obviously superior she will probably see you as more of a man just for having a go in the 1st place regardless of outcome. If it's pretty even then I'd imagine she would see you as less of a man, no matter what she claims. It's just human instinct. Losing a fight, dominant male and all that crap.

If he is so superior in his fighting abilities, your bf is pretty much a douche for beating the sh!t out of other guys...he should just put them in a hold or restrain the other person. It's kinda like the guy above said, not cool when it's an obvious outmatch as I'd assume most random drunks would be...

I box and I would never try to fight somebody on the street. I can easily out box 70% of the guys in our local bars but for what reason? I didn't like to fight in high school / middle school. Why do it now? It is childish. Now, in self defense; you must believe the dude will most likely regret it lol

got into a fist fight in my first year of college. I'm the type of guy where I honestly would rather walk away then throw blows .. but this one kid was reallly crossing the line because he thought I said something inappropriate to his girlfriend. Now naturally I never said anything to her offensive, but it resulted in me giving him a pretty bad ass whooping. I don't think I've ever been that mad in retrospect as that day.. anyways
I see the same girlfriend at a party 2 weeks later and she was all fuking over me .. so whether women admit it or not .. they are attracted to someone who brings edge / character / a scrappy attitude to the table.
