Journey to Pro Football and Beyond: Blitz n Destroy

I'm diving^^
I received a call from my friend and ex-teammate Kevin the other day telling me he had just signed with an IFL team(http://www.goifl.com/) called the Wyoming Calvary(http://www.wyomingcavalry.com/). I expressed my interested to play again, especially with my old bash brother, so he called the head coach. Tryouts have passed and training camp is supposed to be full, but the coach said that he will probably make an exception for me and let my fly out to Wyoming for a 1 week trial in camp on February 19th.
That means that I have 39 days to push myself as far as humanly possible to reach peak football shape. I know it's a stretch, but I will do everything possible to get there, and beyond. Following this season, Kevin has a private workout set up with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL, coached by Dennis Green. If I make it to this tryout and onto the Calvary, I have an excellent shot of going to the private tryout as well.
This journal will chronicle my training up to the 19th, my experience in Wyoming if it comes to fruition, and everything beyond.

Planning on it. 40 days for ME is a lot of time. I'm stoked at the opportunity.

I'm thinking 5 days a week in the A.M I'm going to do foam rolling, stretching(dynamic and static), preventive exercise and core work like internal and external rotations, empty cans, static holds, single leg stuff, ankle and hip mobility, planks and rotational core movements and some light foot work. Lifting will be about 6-8 hours after, and cardio/ field training i still have to fit in.

Yesterday was off, had way too much stuff to get done.
Added $250 in Under Armour ColdGear to my wardrobe, along with a 50ft 2" thick undulation rope.

Yes. Currently my conditioning has been my battling rope. I live in Michigan and we are buried in snow and ice right now. I'm working on securing some time at an indoor facility or figuring out how to do it on a football field outside right now.
Tomorrow I'm going to do some fieldwork outside if I can gain access to a field. 10 yard sprints, shuttle, 3 done, ladder work etc.
That is a foam roller called The Grid. It's great for self myofascial release and pre/post workout recovery and warmup. I love it and use it daily.

That's a pretty sick looking foam roller. I'm used to the standard blue solid ones.
Do not want Michigan weather

It feels a lot better than a traditional roller and it's always in my gym bag.
Yeah...not ideal weather for outdoor training, but I will make the most of it.
