1. How heavy is the final PS4 box(with contents inside lol)? And/or the dimensions...?
2. Sony President said that if you have PS+ in one account for PS4, you can play online as well with your other accounts. I wanna know if this goes for EVERY account despite the region, or just same region of the account with PS+ activated? Cuz some of us have multiple accounts with different regions to download stuffs from that particular region's PS Store.

Yes it will carry over.
So far, no news, and you cant. But hopefully they will add it.

u have to sync the trophies to the server to carry them over .... not sure about a name change unless u just make a new account

Mark Cerny: PS4 Developers will Get More Creative By Year Three or Four





Lead architect for the PlayStation 4 Mark Cerny, in an interview with Polygon during Gamescom, said that he think developers will get more creative with the console’s hardware once they have some practice under their belts and release a few games.

We set our target at 10 times the PlayStation 3’s performance because that’s what we felt we needed to achieve in order to differentiate the titles. When I did pitches to developers about the hardware, I talked about what I call the Ahihabara test. Akihabara is an electronics district in Tokyo, it’s just full of stores where you can buy just about anything you plug into a wall socket. I knew that at some point, there’d be out on the sidewalk a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and they might even be showing the same game, and the PlayStation 3 had to be powerful enough that when people walked by, they had to look at the PlayStation 4 and say, ‘Wow, I have to have that.

Of course that isn’t going to be easy. As more polygons are added for greater fidelity, you eventually get diminishing returns as the human eye can detect the difference less and less.

“Believe it or not, at the PlayStation 3 launch, I was hearing a lot about how PlayStation 3 graphics aren’t really different from PlayStation 2. I think that speaks to both how large people’s expectations are, and also how launch titles are not fully exploiting the hardware.”

And making the raw power of a console at the beginning of its lifecycle wasn’t Cerny’s only goal. As the console ages he thinks it will produce some really amazing games as developers learn the ropes.

“It’s a supercharged PC architecture, so you can use it as if it were a PC with unified memory. Much of what we’re seeing with the launch titles is that usage; it’s very, very quick to get up to speed if that’s how you use it. But at the same time, then you’re not taking advantage of all the customization that we did in the GPU. I think that really will play into the graphical quality and the level of interaction in the world in, say, year three or year four of the console.”

Cerny also clarified in the interview that developers weren’t having trouble with the architecture, just that they weren’t taking advantage of the subtleties within to allow for the full range of possibilities.

The PlayStation 4 will be out November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.

Sony Unveils PS3 to PS4 Game Upgrade Plan





During GamesCom Sony announced that gamers who purchase select PS3 titles, will be able to download digital copies of those games for Playstation 4 at a significantly discounted price. While it will not be available for every single game, some big publishers have come out as participants in the program. As it stands we know that Warner Bros., Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and Activision will all be in the program to some degree.

The program will only run for a limited time, so try not to wait around too long on buying the games that are in the program. There is no information regarding whether the offer is going to be worldwide, or focused specifically in the United States and United Kingdom.

When it comes to how much the digital copies of your upgraded games will cost, Sony has left that to the publishers. Fergal Gara, the UK managing Director, explained why the pricing is being left to publishers:


That mechanism doesn�t affect us, because we�re not publishing any titles across both platforms. It�s over to the EAs, the Activisions, and the Ubisofts to go and decide what the differential is to trade up.


Gara went on the comment about how exciting it was the Sony is able to offer the upgrade deal. Though he didn�t specifically name prices for the digital copies, he did comment that they would not be substantial but would be �fair.� It will most likely fall around the same cost as similar programs where you can get the digital copies for about $10.

Of course if you�re not planning on going for the PS4 and would rather trade up your 360 games, you can take advantage of similar offers from Amazon and Gamespot. We can only hope that they open up these program to a larger library of games. At least the upgrade options are spread across both of the next gen consoles.

These programs are very exciting in general for console gaming and help with a big weakness of home consoles. When put against PCs it has always been a losing point that once a new gen of consoles comes out you lose the ability to play older games. If this program could be opened up to cover more than just a few titles, it could be a big win for console users.

Reading about these upgrade programs just makes me wish they existed before. With digital downloads becoming very popular on the PS3 and 360, it would have been great to bring along some of my older 360 and Xbox games that weren�t compatible with the system yet. Heck, Microsoft could unload the costs of backwards compatibility on to publishers and it might benefit gamers.

The PS4 will be launching on November 15th in the US and November 29th in Europe. By the end of the year the console will be available in 32 countries around the world.

The Xbox One has a vague launch date somewhere in November. A specific date has yet to be announced for the console release.
