Yeah i tried doing a cut and bulk (counting calories) when first starting out but it was discouraging to see when cutting that i was going to end up a twig and when i was bulking i was becoming a fatter. I decided that when skinny fat its better to just eat clean food rather than feel hungry for a few months then feel bloated the next few. I may have done alot of things wrong during those first 6 months but i dont think doing the "bulking" phase when skinny fat is very good because its really discouraging.
But in saying that i will probably start a "clean" bulk the next few weeks as i would like to increase my lifts.
My lifts when starting out were bad. I remember going to failure with 30kg (around 65lb) at around 7-8 reps on the bench
So im guessing around a one rep max of 85-90lb
Now i can bench 90kg one rep max (nearly 200lb)
While 200lb max isnt great for a year and 8 months of lifting i believe that once i start doing a decent bulk i can get my lifts up.
I never did rippetoes, mad cow's 5 x 5 or any other strength related routine and is probably the reason i am so weak.
To answer the diet part of your question, i am eating i guess about 100-170 grams of protein a day nearly all of which is clean, however my family eats a decent amount of junk so i try and eat it after a workout as alot of it has a high sugar which is best to consume after a workout if ever...Since i still live at home i cannot complain with what is served up infront of me...
If this doesnt cover your question's tell me btw you have alot more muscle than i did and still do, you will look great after your "recomp" GL brother

Thanks mate i plan too! Your looking great man, great chest and midsection!
Thanks Chochoo God damn your arms are hoooge! Natural?
Cheers, no i havent measured my body fat. When i first went into a gym a trainer fixed me up with a program and used scales to measure my body fat % it came in at 15% but he said that it was unreliable and that it was just protocol to use it when people first come in. I kinda wish i had measured it though.
Yeah, i ate alot of vegetables and fruit at first thinking that just because they were healthy it would give me results. However i later learnt that protein is whats needed, lol.
My workouts in the first 8 months were garbage as well. I rarely sweated and waited 4 mins before sets usually, i also think my rep range was too low (i was doing less than 6)
Thanks for the comment mate, looking solid yourselfLast edited by L0cky; 01-11-2011 at 05:36 AM. Reason: didnt thank microspot

Thanks for the comment.
What do you mean by "give it another 8 months and you should aim for the same again."
You mean bulk then do another recomp after another 8 months?
"legs?" pretty average, my legs are always sore from recently taking up football and soccer so i usually work other body parts that arent sore. I know its a poor excuse but i never really paid much attention to them. BTW you look great on stage. How long did it take you to get the body you have on stage from when you started lifting?
