Well killing is an instinctual thing. Generally speaking, when you kill another person there is usually something behind it. It could be because they killed someone, or it could be for something as stupid as they took 5 dollars off your dresser.

Obviously there are serial killers who kill people to fulfill a psychological need, but thats besides the point.

Raping a child on the other hand, has no justification and is simply evidence of a sick human being.

they arent always. our justice system takes more into account than just the act itself. sure rape might not seem as bad as murder, but what if the murder happened in act of passion where the murder lost control for a slight moment. compared to a rapist who plans out and attacks his victims viciously its not quite as bad.

You kill someone, they most likely feel pain, die, family/friends mourn, and life is ruined, but they move on and start remembering the good times, turn it into a celebration of that persons life

You rape someone, they feel pain, traumatized for life, leads to MANY mental issues which would be hard on a family. Most likely have trust issues which means that person can't live a normal life.

Both are terrible, but unless it's a planned murder, rape is far worse in my eyes

A serial killer is worse than a serial rapist, while the latter ruins lives... the former ends lives.

Also, rape isn't enough to "ruin" someones life 100% because of better quality therapy... + long time periods... after 15-20 years, the persons main problem will be having sex with someone...
