Saw "All Is By My Side" the other day. I liked it. If your a Jimi Hendrix fan, give it a look. If not, still give it a look. It is not a happy movie. Just know that going in.

Watched Paddington with my girls over the weekend. They absolutely loved it. It was pretty cute and made me chuckle a few times. Compared to a lot of other kids movies, this one wasn't too bad to watch.

Loved: Begin, Again - great flick with Mark Ruffalo and Kiera Knightly about a down and out record producer who discovers a broken hearted girlfriend of a famous rock star (Adam Levine of Maroon 5) who was the writing talent behind the rock star. The producer and girl set out to record an album using NYC as their studio. Great flick!

Hated: Shadow People- horribly slow, and painful acting. The only redeeming quality is the movie is only 90 minutes.

I am watching netflix now and im suprized to see that linux ubuntu did a much better job quality wise than windows 7 does. I dont know if its my tv or not but there is a very noticeable difference in quality.

In other news I saw "Jerasic World" last night and I really liked it. Its not the same old story over again they mixed it up a bit and the visuals werent bad either.

Just don't go to an evening screening and expect to sleep that night!

My kids, whom I've raised to be science and nature geeks, loved Tommorowland and I found it to be tolerable. I don't know why the neocons are so paranoid about the environmental message in it because a movie isn't going to change anything.

I don't know... all of it? They use that fake "artistic" shaky camera angle and the acting sound like a high school play. The plot seemed stolen from an older kid movie called Minutemen. We did Redbox too, so just lost 1$! LOL

My standards must be a lot lower than Bourque, I didn't think it was all that bad but then I was trapped on a flight to Thailand at 37,000' so anything was better than nothing.

As far as I can see, people either like it or hate it. I love sci-fi but hate the "lost footage" style movies, so none of us couldn't get into it.

yeah I liked it also. i really like the humor aspect with the rocker guy on the front of the vehicle haha.

I take it you weren't a big Cloverfield fan either?

I agree although I did liked the somewhat hidden nature of the movie. They could've made a sequel which I think could've been better than the first. I'm assuming they can't find good writers to come up with a good enough script seeing as it's been several years now.

I thought this was great. There were so many little details that added to the story, the old lady's gate was done up like the little figures in the woods, the person standing in the corner in the basement....

Watched "50 Shades of Grey" with the wife last night, I went into it not knowing a damn thing about the movie and I thought it was horrible. Totally unbelievable with extremely wooden acting by most of the major players.

Saw Jurassic World on Saturday....really liked it...! MUCH better than the previous two....! Great effects...! Saw Spy yesterday and also liked it....I love Melissa McCarthy...! She is really funny!!
Saw San Andreas a couple of weeks back and it was pretty good....decent effects, but pretty average plat line......However The Rock was in a tight t-shirt throughout the movie, so there was that.....

Agree! The guy standing in the corner (who she was calling out for) you don't see right away at first...and then it dawns on you. Too late for her.

I haven't seen it, it seems contrived. Good soundtrack though. lol
A good movie along the same genre is 9 1/2 weeks....with Mickey Rourke. Not a new movie, but very sexy.
