    Standing vs. sitting military press

    Im doing the 12 week bulking program, and it says to do sitting military press. is standing any better?

    Depends on your goals. Each version has its pros and cons.

    Seated military press usually allows you to use more weight on the bar and mostly isolates the shoulders, however standing press also works your core very well since you must stabilize yourself more.

    If you are a relatively new lifter, I would recommend opting for the standing press since it will allow you to get stronger overall.

    Military vs overhead has to do with the width of the stance. Military is feet close together (I believe smaller than shoulder width), while overhead is feet farther apart.

    There is no such thing as a seated military press. The whole reason it's called the military press is because you have your heels together as if you were a soldier standing at attention.

    i use to always do them standing and i noticed it really did build my core up really thick. which is a good and bad thing. when i was wrestling i was untouchably strong but now that im focusing on bodybuilding i wish i hadnt cause i wish my back to waist ratio was more dramatic.
