Chartreuse
Any one here like Chartreuse? The French monk drink type not the highlighter. Thinking of finding some.

I have no idea. I thought this was a thread about the color, in which case, yes. I love chartreuse.

I could tell you some stories that are HI-LAR-I-OUS however the stories are not about me cause well the FEW times Ive drank it, end-well-it-did-not.
Its actually just like "the green fairy" aka Absinthe... its made from worm wood also but french monks make it.....

The color is actually named after the drink. It is a nice color, want to try the liquor but was looking for reviews from people I know.

I know. But I've never tried it. Sorry. I still like the color, though, if that helps.

They say that the thujone (from the wormwood) is hallucinogenic, then again most of the better absinthes I've had are high proof alcohol of around 140 proof so hard to tell if its the alcohol or the herbs. Wormwood was used by the Romans I believe to kill parasites (worms) in the body. It's a toxin. Anyway, I have gotten totally sh!tfaced from absinthe, yes. as for hallucinating - I would have to say no. Most of the times I've had absinthe I also smoked a huge funnel stuffed with shag tobacco, hash and high grade weed, though, so I'm not the right person to ask. This stuff seems to sneak up on you all at once. You have a shot (or in my case, a shot done ritual style cuz that's how I roll) and you're like...I need more. Then you have more and oops too late your are now effed up in a weird way lol.

I lived in Europe for 4 years in the early 90's. I drank an awful lot of Absinthe and can say without any doubt, that the quantity necessary to induce hallucinations would almost certainly be fatal. The effect from Absinthe is very similar to what you would expect from heavy drinking and very moderate amounts of really clean "go-fast" and very moderate barbs ( Think Lemon or Rorer) all mixed together.

I've had Czech, German and French, but I'd have to say that La Fee' from France is hands down my fave one. Czech was just plain awful and seemed terribly unfiltered. One came in a brown medicinal-type bottle with a sepia-toned label with Van Gogh's pic on it. Should have came with a warning label too lol - one sip and I wanted to scrub it off my tongue - it sort of felt like it was burning off my taste buds.

The French stuff that I had was very pricey. The Czech stuff was OK, if a little harsh going down. We mostly drank Spanish Absinthe, I think. I will never remember the name but it was very drinkable.
Somewhere, I have a pic of me and a few others in Salzburg in front of a 4 story mural of Johnny Rotten painted on the side of a building in the heart of the Old Town. Never did figure out why it was there. In the pic, two of my friends are holding Absinthe bottles that were made in Austria. That was really good stuff, kinda sweet actually.
About 6 hours after the picture was taken we were in a club in Vienna where women dressed like Catwoman were leading each other around on leashes and there was a virtual blizzard on every table. We had been awake for about 60 hours ( Got to love the German Apotheke's ) and the scene was too much, a general breakdown occurred and the run ended with four Joes vs two hardcore Doms, a really fine Sub and a mountain of the bad news on a coffee table in a flat with no heat in the middle of February.
Good times?
