5/29/17 - **The day I decided to take my life seriously and start approaching girls, and learning openers, mid conversation phase shifting, building an emotional and physical connection. I need to get more confident in general, and get rid of my anxiety. PM if you have helpful guy advice and can instruct me on the right material to read. Thanks.

yep gotta do the math
and use conservative figures.
OP make sure you can have as much disposable income as possible though. youre going to feel like sh*t when you see most of your income going into the apt like that.
that price is going to eat one full pay check and probably a few hundred more on the second one. I definitely would try to figure something else out***Gender Non-Committed***

You're already 22, and your parents are perfectly fine with supporting you. Just stay an extra 1-2 years and save your money on a down payment for a House

What you want to live like a baller in your $1,300 mo apartment until you're 25 and realize you've been paying all this money for NOTHING? I'd rather be paying for a house, and if you're living with your parents make $40k a year I'd hope you have some nice savings to throw down a solid down payment.

What is your reasoning for moving out?
-Is it to bring chicks back to your place to nail?
-Is it to get closer to work?
-Is it because people make fun of you for living at home?
PROS
-There are advantages regarding picking up chicks. Normally, I'll just offer to have them come over to watch a movie.... If they accept, that pretty much solidifies the fact that they will be nailed. You may not be able to do this at your parents place.
-Short commute is always a plus, especially 40 minutes. However, you do get used to commuting and I would only consider it an issue if it is significant. In your case its a pretty big time savings. = extra sleeping time in the morning
CONS
-Roommates SUCKKKKKK!!! I would never live with a roommate. It doesn't matter how good of a person they are... they will annoy the sh*t out of you with their habits. They will come home late and wake you up, they will disturb you in ways you wouldn't believe.
-You have to cook & clean for yourself. Mommy isn't gonna get you groceries or clean your place. You have to pretty much fend for yourself, which takes time and effort Unless you can get a maid/GF with big tats... which I would suggest.
OTHER
-If you are moving because friends are making fun of you... then THEY are baboons. If you live at home you will have an extra $1300/mnth. This is HUGE. Don't listen to those idiots

yeah OP youre at a huge advantage that you have been able to work a 40k job while living at your parents house. try to be smart and use that for what it is. surely you have good capital saved as it is
i see that you dont have many expenses, but im going to assume you make about 2200/mo after taxes (not sure)
if that is true, you only have $900 left for living expenses + parties/nightlife.
sure, you can pull it off, but thats not really how your more savvy people of personal finance think***Gender Non-Committed***

I always lol when people say don't rent, just buy a house!
Yeah, like most early 20-something year olds have 50-100 grand laying around for a down payment. Try getting mortgage now adays without a quater up front.
Anyway, OP, strong cmon now to this:
Rent - 1300
Car Insurance -None- Mom is paying =D
Car Payment -None , owned
Food - $80 x 52 = $4160 a year
Cable - free with apartment
Electric - free with apartment

about to be in same boat as OP if I land this new job... Only making like 28k now (only have about 4k saved in bank living at home and working 8 months, but pretty much debt free besides car payments), will make at least 40k if get this new job. It would feel weird moving into a house alone. Gonna try and find a cheap 1 bedroom apt for a while or get one with roomies if possible (currently none of my friends can move out or already have a place).
1300 sounds like way too much tho
