Ohh yea those. They suck. I wasn't able to do the 2nd one properly. toooooooooo hard. I may try again sometime though..... I need a good system cleaning hah
It's easier to not have any than to try to have only a few.... for realz. I still let myself have a sugar free energy drink, diet pepsi (sometimes), and as much water as I want. Also 2 scoops of BetaCene and as much Xtend as I want... it's not so bad!
Went for wings tonight (wings for me = boneless chicken breast nuggets) Pretty good. Dunno how many calories it was but I only had ~300 before football practice (which was fairly tame thank goodness, a fair bit of cardio though) and didn't eat again until those chicken nuggets... Stuffed!BluePrint Believer!

Caffeine & diet pepsi are my saviors lol
I drink Xtend, I don't have enough Glutacene to drink it daily, I prefer to use it during workouts. The tub's don't last very long
I'm gonna go have my energy drink now (0 cals, 0 sugar)
Agreed haha
While speaking of diety-type things... I need to get groceries. I wanna eat more fruit and I need to get veggies I like (Edamame... with LOTS of salt haha). The wings last night wreaked havoc on my stomach (major bloating)... I think the batter hit one of my many food-intolerance buttons that have been popping up lately. Or maybe I just ate too much? In any case... I don't like to be bloated like that, and I need to fix it.BluePrint Believer!

Got sunny as the day went on, yay. Today's already looking a little nicer. Apparently at around 3am Thursday morning there was an EPIC thunderstorm... I slept right through it. Most people I know are like HOW THE HELL DID YOU SLEEP THROUGH THAT?! ... it was really loud and crazy I guess. I think there's some videos and pictures around I'll try to find some. We don't usually get epic weather like that around here...
This Saturday at the game I will be playing Linebacker (Mostly middle) and I'm also on Kick-Off Return... that's gonna hurt lolBluePrint Believer!

Wait, you'll be recieving the ball? Or you're on the return team? I think the reciever would get the brunt of that.

Temperatures according to the weather network SHOULD be 15C (59F) - good temperature for a football game for me!! As long as it's not too windy... We've played in temperates over 30C before (90F+) and that's terrible... game stops frequently for water breaks. Could happen later this summer...
Weather forecasting in these parts is really really shoddy so anything could happen. It's in the next province over too (Saint John, in New Brunswick). I'll be less than an hour away from Maine hah. This team is the defending champions from the past 2-3 years I think... maybe more.
I'm on the receiving team, not receiving the ball but theres a good chance it'll come to me. I'm set up in the middle off to the side, as part of the "Wedge" --- I gotta block the really fast players going for the ball... and probably going to get earholed haha. The kickers in our league aren't near pro-quality (of course) so the ball can go anywhere from 20yrds to 50yrds and whether its straight or off to the side is really depedant on.. luck. They might do onside kicks too, which means the front lines gonna be in trouble or I'm gonna have to run up and get the ball.
I'm kinda excited, but open field tackling/blocking is rather difficult... and this teams known to play dirty and go for the knees.BluePrint Believer!

I'm even MORE excited cause of Paintball too - I FINALLY got my gun fixed!! I broke the trigger microswitch so I had to find a new one and solder it in and all that good stuff.
I think we're playing with re-balls (rubber balls instead of paintballs) tonight... heh heh heh
Oh I got a few tricks and schemes I can run if they're being dirty again.
I can only hope new year, new team. But the coach doesn't change...BluePrint Believer!

AM Workout
None!
PM Workout
None!
Diet
~1500 calories
I Ate:
BK Double Whopper (just ketchup), Medium Fries, 2 Mozza Sticks
Some super spicy doritos (like, 1/5th a small bag)
The day went like this: Work, Home to pack, drive to cottage (2hours), drive to moncton (1h), finally eat at 11pm, drive back to cottage (1h). Very busy, not a lot of time, no fun to be had. I thought that the paintball/reball that was going on was from 10pm-12am but apparently it was 8pm-10pm and no one told me or knew. I'm pretty pissed. The gf didn't know and I sort of expected her to since she wanted to go to this thing, she also didnt know where it was at and i didn't have time to google it (plus my computers dead). Our friend there waiting for us didn't tell us the proper time or give us good directions, so it was a very frustrating drive and I got pretty pissed off, especially since I was starving so bad.

GAMEDAY
Diet
???? calories - I'd venture to guess close to 3000.
I Ate:
Oatmeal with Whey (280cals)
2pcs Toast with some light butter (135cals)
1/2 Banana (50 cals)
Confetti Square (pb fudge+marshmellows?) (250cals?)
3 cookies post-game (Coach Mom makes the BEST cookie snacks)
Hot Turkey Sandwich at a restaurant (really good! ~1000 cals)
1 Bottle Alexander Keiths Beer (~150cals)
I'm not sure what else I got into that evening...
Woke up at 830pm after getting about 7 hours of sleep. Not too bad, felt pretty well rested. Got ready for the game. Drove 3 hours to the game. Met up with the team at a Big Stop we use as our halfway meetup point. Got to the game - BEAUTIFUL turf field. It was seriously the nicest turf field I've ever seen. I was very excited to play on it!
We did our warmups - the other team barely warmed up, it was as if they were preparing for a light practice. Kind of insulting. They won their previous game 16-8 I think - not too crazy. We've been the last place team for the past 3-4 years so we got the vibe they still took us as a joke. I didn't want to prove them right.
So after warmups the coach comes up to me. "How do you feel about playing Defensive Tackle?" me: "I can do it..." Him: "Good, cause there's no one else." -- I didn't know we were going to be missing 1/3rd of our team. Two of our key running backs were missing, half the starting line of defensive was missing... We had receivers filling in at corner, linebackers moving up to the line, running backs coming to D line... You can see it was kind of a mess. I used to play on the D-line so it wasn't a huge adjustment for me, but I did use to be Defensive End. I was set up in the middle of the D line, and according to our defense my job is now to stuff the A-gap. Through an O-line consisting of players at least twice my size. The center was at least 5'10" and probably 160lbs - she was tall and skinny looking next to the Guards. My side guard was maybe 5'0" and 300lbs. I could see over her head easily, but there was no way I could physically move her. The other guard was almost as tall as the Center and weighed just as much as the girl I was against, at least. The other Tackle playing is about my height and maybe has 30-40lbs on me so she was pretty out-sized as well.
Game begins...
First is Kick-Off team. We kick the ball to them. Defense goes on the field.
We knew the team would be running a lot of sweeps so all week we (the middle/weak side linebackers) were practicing stopping the sweep and turning it up field... I wasn't in position, I'm not sure if who was in the spot I was supposed to be in practiced the
position.. but we weren't blocking the sweeps.
They get their first Touchdown. I'm kind of winded cause I was doing a lot of work. But I'm on kick-off return and it's our turn to get the ball. My position is in the middle of the kick-off team, on the right side. The kick goes to about my distance, but to the middle-left area. I run over to get some blocks in. The other team rushes in to make the tackle... The girl who caught the ball couldn't hold on.. she fumbles... The other team Recovers the ball. Defense stays on the field. I could really use some water by now.
So I stay on the field.... Everytime they came up the middle, I was in on the tackle. They never made it through my hole, or the holes on either side of mine. They didn't start running up the middle until later in the 1st quarter. Sometime in the middle of the first quarter, I banged my elbow off someone (helmet or gear I'm not sure) REALLY HARD. Like, I thought my elbow might be fractured. I kept playing. I could barely put weight on my arm (right) and I had to be in the 3-point stance... so I just toughed it out and tried not to give away I'm hurt. I think grabbing it after every play, almost crying, and icing it everytime I was on the sideline was a giveaway. Eventually they get another touchdown from the sweeps and passes that I can honestly do nothing about (not my positions job). I did everything I could to help out - looking over the short guards head I could watch what way the play is going and I'd yell my lungs out so my team can get there on time... rarely made it... People just weren't committing to the tackle. They were so scared to make mistakes, they just kept making mistakes.
After the touchdown, it's kickoff return again. Went much the same as the first time except we held onto the ball. Offense finally gets to play, but it's a fairly short possession. I think they got 1 or two first downs before they had to punt. Then I'm back on. This is when they started running up the middle even more. I think they came up into the other A gap that the other DT was taking control of (wow I'm shaking really bad right now, frozen yet too warm... I think I have the jitters... /sidenote).. We stopped them at the line, but someone hit my knee. The bad one, that I just had surgery on. It went numb... I couldn't put weight on it for a minute. I was like "omg.. omg.." I tried to work it out... played the next play... got a little better... 2 plays later it was fine but I was still so scared. No problems with it for the rest of the game thank goodness. Just the one scare.
I don't remember if it was before my knee-ding or right after, but they ran another one of those sweeps.... Line of scrimmage was midfield... She passed everyone. One of the experienced players from last year was on her trying to catch up... I started sprinting after her. I met the two of them 1 yard from the endzone, got in front of her and pushed her back so she didn't get another touchdown. Apparently I can sprint about 50yds in what felt like 3 seconds or less. Me and that particular linebackers (or corner, or hybrid/safety) were in on a lot of tackles together. It was her position but I was there to help a lot. Actually it may have been someone elses position she was covering.
The rest of the game went much the same... Theyd run up the middle, I'd make the hit. They'd run a sweep, get a touchdown. We couldn't score, our defense couldn't do their job and stop them. It was a sorry display. The straw that broke the camels back was in the 3rd quarter... we were down Defensive Linemen of course, and we only have 3 solid Offensie Linemen. One of them got injured, badly. Ankle sprain or something. Had to be taken out. The other guard I think got a concussion or something at some point, she was loopy after the game. I didn't know what happened to her though....
So the coach called the game... we forfeit around the end of the 3rd quarter.
Yea, I cried. Tried not to.
We did our 3 cheers for us, 3 cheers for them, and went to shake hands and stayed classy... most of us were hurting - physically. Some emotionally too. Mostly physically though.
This year our team has a tradition of picking the Offensive and Defensive player of the game. We also have a Labatt rep on the team who gives the players of the game 12pk beer vouchers. We did our team huddle and the head coach had a speech about how he had to call the game, for safety reasons. Too many girls getting hurt and no subs, or people who could possibly sub in... Then turned it over to the Defensive coach to pick their player of the game. He gave a nice speech, said this girl was playing out of position, didn't get much practice in because of injuries and sickness, etc etc... but played one hell of a game and was very impressive despite being injured most of the game.
Yep, I was Defensive Player of the Game.
Pretty proud about it. But I couldn't look up or say anything at the time. I was still stuffed up and teary, lookin at the ground. I gave thumbs up and mumbled thanks in the huddle, but I thanked him later when I was less emotional. Got lots of props from my teammates too. It was nice.
Our next game is a home game against Moncton I think. I have a point to make with these ladies, so we better win. I know I'll be ready to take them down. I hope my teammates are just as motivated.

Diet
???? calories - I'd venture to guess close to 3000.
I Ate:
I couldn't even tell ya. Probably everything at my cottage.
We were supposed to go paintballing but we were poor, I was still hurting bad from the game, and we woke up too late. We could've made it afterall though but we didn't and it kinda sucks but it happens... Drove home later that evening after spending the day watching movies and tossing a football in the yard (which kinda hurt the elbow).
Going to try lifting again Monday (tonight).
