Prayers for you continued recovery.
LMAO Let me tell you brother, some 20 to 22 Second Graders each with a freakin' pack of matches can pretty well 'light your fuse!' Ha ha!!! Sometimes you get all bent out of wack, think that you're teaching University level or some such stupid thing...then you realize; these little buggers act like 8 year olds because they are! Ha ha! Just what the hell would one expect? They're fed up, just like I am. Now...how to keep the little Apaches occupied for the next 3 or 4 weeks? That's another question altogether!
Thanks for the good wishes on the recovery. I had a good workout tonight. Will post it here in 3 shakes of a leg. It's good to hit the gym midweek. Just breaks things up. We're winding down. Kinder through 2nd have their ITBS/Logramos this week, Thursday and Friday, and the following Monday. Hell. What they've learned they've learned...or not! They'll do just fine. We've not been sitting back and scratching our tummies all freakin' year long! It helps to think...each of those little devils is their parents heart and soul...they'd die for them. Even if they're not quite what one might want in a parent. LOL They are something else!
On that Mexico thing; that mountain is visible from Mexico City. Snow-covered most of the year. When it wakes up and rumbles...it will get folks attention. Puebla had one awful earthquake some years back, all that beautiful city needs is Popocatepetl raining down fire and brimstone!

It was an enjoyable time in the gym. Closer to 'regular stuff' than I've had in some 2 weeks or so. The silly right shoulder bone has a mind all its' own. Didn't give me any problem in the least on the delt press. No indication now of any problem to come. When you're stopped up like a drum, feeling like (%*^ basically, fed up and tired, it's good to have some positive time in the gym. Tomorrow is hump day. This week will be over before you know it. And Summer is just around the corner. I'll take Wednesday off, then hit bicep/tricep again on Thursday.

I've been sitting around tonight watching the weather reports on the news like the 'old folks' do. Ha! It is nasty outside at the moment. Looks like a freakin' blowing monsoon outside my front door. No hail...thank God! There are rain wrapped funnel clouds dropping out of the sky all over North, Texas this Wednesday evening. I pray that folks are safe and sound! The tornado warnings have been extended for another hour. Cockrill Hill is right in the eye of some nasty circulation. That's right over my left shoulder!

LOL I guess you're right! It stopped raining, but lots of lightning close in to the north and west. This evening has got me a little more jittery than I normally am when thunderstorms pop up.

Yeah, my youngest daughter was in Plano and didn't leave until about 9:50, I wasn't too keen on that idea.

Bicep/Tricep this evening after work. There's a lot of destruction across North, Texas this morning. 6 confirmed dead, some 100 injured, and 14 still unacounted for. 10 different tornadoes did their little dance across the countryside last night.

They are nasty things to be sure. In the daytime you can at least see them, at night they are just plain scary. Wrapped up in rain and darkness, you see transformers exploding, and if you can hear that freight-train sound, you'd better pray! LOL It is frightening what they can do in a matter of seconds. The one that hit Granbury with so many fatalities was an EF-4. An EF-3 hit Cleburne. I don't much care for them.

Nice! There weren't 12 people in the whole entire gym this evening. I like that! I have filled out on-line surveys from Golds on several occasions. Always give them a good 'thumbs up' when I do it. Ha ha! The manager sent me an E-mail and asked me to drop by and talk to him some afternoon. LOL He may be an absolute prick, I don't know, but the Preston Center Golds is an excellent facility! My home away from home.
Over the years I've cried between sets, thinking about a dead nephew who didn't want to live any longer. Tried to focus my mind on weights with a father in the hospital, later to just give out and 'go on home.' Fed up, sick and tired from myriad stupidities and BS coming down the pike from Ross Avenue...and the gym is still there! It's nice to pound away on some weights.
Good workout. I'm not curling 55 pound DB's just yet, or popping out sets at 135 on the bicep curl, but I'll be damned if I don't make some gains here and there! LMAO

Congrats brother, makes no difference what the poundage is, if you are happy with it, then it is a great gain!

LOL Well, it was a good workout. I won't say that I'm 'happy' with the weight. It always needs to be more. Ha! One more week down. With each one behind me, I'm that much closer to the end of this school year. I'm tired. So are the kids. I love the little Apaches, but I need a break, and so do they! I spent a good deal of time trying to explain a norm-reference test to them this morning. They worry about scores, pass/fail. LOL They were quite surprised to learn that all of this testing just compares them to other Second Graders all across the nation.
No gym tonight. I'm going to chill. I'll hit legs tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Another weekend! I'm tight and sore from Thursday night's workout. Feels good! In the middle of this testing at school, it throws a monkey wrench into everything. You can't test your own kids, not even children in the same grade level from another class. I had a 5th Grade teacher administering the Logramos/ITBS to mine on Thursday and Friday while I baby-sat her kids upstairs. She'll do it again on Monday. They've got me administering this same battery of tests to Colon's 1st Grade class Monday through Wednesday next week. The kids 'movie day' at the Library is Tuesday afternoon, the school program is Thursday. After that we've got 2 and a half weeks left! It gets progressively more wild and crazy as we wind down. LOL As we 'wind down' the kids wind up!
They've extended the school year, but they've not come to terms with the logistics and activities to warrant the extra several weeks and actually make them profitable academically speaking. Grades have to be in by the 24th, next Friday...text books will be taken up within a week, the kids know it's all over...and still a full two and a half weeks before their last day! LOL Without a shadow of a doubt administration will be wandering around with clipboard in hand, popping into classrooms to make sure that there is 'rigour,' objectives posted, and demonstration of learning taking place. Got to love it! I'll review major objectives that we've covered over the course of the year in both Science and Social Studies. Keep the Apaches busy and occupied!!!
The 5th Graders aren't Apache, they're Sioux! LMAO They all have on their 'ghost shirts' and have done the dance in preparation for the school year's end. They believe themselves impervious and invincible. Poor 5th Grade teachers!

Sounds like DISD admin has got a plan Stan! grades in and books turned in two weeks before school ends????? Are they trying to reduce the number of teachers before next year or something?
Solid leg work, lots of reps on hacks, not my favorite exercise but it is a good quad builder.
It was hot today, dang-it Summer is upon us! run, run for your lives

LOL I'm trying my best to do something with legs! Sometimes I don't know just what the hell I'm doing. I'm trying to avoid squats! LMAO There!!! I said it! I know...I know, I'm a pussy! I can give you 15 reasons 'til Sunday why I shouldn't. And I think I might just have to do some! The kids, and downtown? Ha! That's simple ($*%!

Well, the path that I followed this afternoon led me to the couch, microwave popcorn, and a half gallon of Blue Bell, Neopolitan ice cream! I guess the Golds Gym will be there tomorrow. Ha! There's a new series out on the Nature Channel, "North America." Absolutely spectacular! 5 years in the making. This is one incredible continent. Just breathtakingly beautiful! The wilderness will just bowl you over.
They've had tornadoes in Oklahoma. I don't worry overly about the family up there, but I don't like thinking about my Mom and funnel clouds! LOL Talked to her this evening. The little old lady had all of her insurance and financial paperwork in hand, ready to hit the community storm shelter at the Volunteer Fire department. All you can do is pray, and trust and believe that everything will be ok. I'll head up to Oklahoma for a visit as soon as school is out.
