I want to take OxyElite Pro to loose the last of my pounds. The problem is I have hypothyroidism and take levothyroxine. Would it be safe to take both oxyelite pro with levothyroxine or would that be too much? Can I just take OxyElite Pro instead of the meds since that boost thyroid function?

If you absolutely need OE Pro to get results then the odds are great you won't be able to maintain. I don't think it's a good idea to take supplements like themogenics when you already take something for hypothyroidism. Anyhow, for me to say it's safe or not would be me guessing. You may be alright, you may not. If you do decide on taking OE Pro then I suggest you start with half doses and such.

I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

Odds are that the physician doesn't even have a clue as to what OE pro will do in conjunction with what he's already on which is why I mentioned half dosing or something along those lines. When it comes to "stacking" supps with meds there is a lot of uncharted territory.

I am in school to become a nurse practitioner, and here in Texas we have prescriptive authority after we are licensed and go through certain things and are able to operate independent of a physician. So I will feel free to speak about this.
I am almost certain your physician may discourage you from taking them.. Some supplements can interact with levoxyl/levothyroxine. They effects can potentially be lethal as well. I am not going to say yes or no, but if you want to be completely safe, find out every ingredient in that supplement and have your physician go over some options for you.
I know that much of the ingredients are herbal extracts, and there can be dangerous effects if the lack of the better of the two were to mix and be incompatible.
To be completely safe just exercise more and skip the thermogenic pills. Better to be safe than sorry. My mother has hypothyroidism and there are certain supplements she cannot take because she takes the same medication. Just be careful. Thyroid regulating medication can be life saving and dangerous if you are not careful about what you are putting into your body.
Also.... Is your doctor a primary care doctor or an endocrinologist? Just curious.. I did my own research and consulted with people who are physicians and they recommend against it... So if it was me, I would not take that. I cannot give you a direct answer, but only stating hypothetically if it was me, then no I would not. Also, another important thing I just noticed about your post, DO NOT stop taking your thyroid medication unless directed by your PCP. Just trying to look out for ya man.
Best luck bud.Last edited by TurbulentEnergy; 12-31-2010 at 02:10 PM.

My Doc dont know anything about my thyriod. I pretty much have to do my own research.. They didnt even know we cant eat raw brocilli, i was dumbfounded..
They told me to do whatever worked,lol..
But, I was on VXP Meltdown, and it messed up all my numbers, by like 200 points, it was very bad. I lost alot of fat tho, but stopped taking them..

synthroid and OEP
i consulted my endocronologist about the same concern. Let me just start by saying that i was born without a thyroid so i've been taking synthroid my whole entire life. that being said, i never liked taking it, and even when i take the "reccommended dose" i still felt so drained of my energy, and of course, i was always stuggling with my weight. About 4 months ago, i started taking Oxy elite pro and it wasnt until i did some research to find out that OEP actually works nearly the same as my synthroid by activating the t3 and t4 receptors which basically help you burn food much faster. My specialist saw the difference in my weight because at that time i had lost 15 pounds and i told him what i was taking. honestly, as a doctor, i feel as though he didnt have a lot of knowledge on OEP but he told me that if i wanted to, i can stop taking my synthroid and sustitute it with OEP. i dont want to say its the "right" thing to do because, like i said, he didnt give me a lot of backup on the effects or what would happen in my body, but both medicines work the same. i would suggest taking one or the other. but taking both won't hurt you either.
Hope this helped!
good luck!
