    Berries on keto

How many of you guys eat a lot of berries while ketoing? They're very low in carbs and the fiber count is awesome. I'm in full time now for keto now that the holidays are over and experimenting with vegetables/fruits this time around to keep my diet interesting.
I "HAVE" to transform...this is disgusting!

If I pick them myself, I eat them. So in summer, I eat wild strawberries, cherries and raspberries, and lots of blackberries and elderberries in autumn.
    65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

I thought berries were super bad juju, along with all other fruits except pre-depletion workout.

Nah, they're the best of the fruits, very low gi, high fiber and lots of anti-oxidants. Also low calorie.

Sometimes I'll have a 99g serving of blue berries (about 15g of carbs, half from fiber), /w my pwo meal, be it post running or post lifting.

Experiment and see if it works for you. If it fits it ships.

Berries are great for keto as long as you don't over do them.

I'm not a big berry person, but my wife will be effing stoked. Sometimes Strawberries > me . I feel the same way about rib eye, so its a compromise.

Are there any other fruits that are ok, or is this a simple if its really high in fiber and if you've got self control issue, you can eat it sort of thing? I have been running off the no fruits at all because fructose gets shuttled straight to the liver and kick me out of keto understanding.

Look up your fruit, that your interested in.

When you get to carbohydrates, hit the down arrow to expand the menu.

Not all the carbs come from fructose. For example strawberries is half fructose half glucose.

Fruits like grapefruits are mainly sucrose, while blueberries are mainly fructose.

Blackberries and raspberries have an amazing carbohydrate to fibre ratio. Actually getting some fruit in every once and a while is extremely refreshing when you are several weeks into a keto diet.

    Yes !!! I missed my berries !!
The scientific and practical amount of carbohydrate needed in the diet is ZERO -- NONE. Dietary carbohydrates are not a requirement in any body function. In fact it appears that the lower the carbohydrate level in the diet the better the long-term health. Age-related degenerative diseases are caused by high levels of carbohydrates in the diet. One can be on a very low or zero-carbohydrate diet indefinitely as has been shown by the study of many primitive societies.
