Never made sludge before. Looking at ordering some various flavored of protein. What can you brahs recommend for a good sludge protein? I like cookies and cream, cookie dough, rocky road and extreme moose tracks ice creams. I'm a chocoholic.

I think Trutein is the best blend. Mixes so thick, especially in a smoothie maker or blender. Plus, TruNutrition Sciences makes the best flavors on the market.

Just stirred it with a spoon. Texture was pretty soft like mashed potatoes. It was great as a spread on the sliced apples.

Nope. Mixed it in raw. In that recipe, I used 60g ground oats, 60g protein powder, and 100g egg beaters. Less egg beaters for a thicker consistency or leave it in the fridge for a while to stiffen up.

Made some overnight oats for tomorrow but changed one thing, I let them sit about 5-6 minutes post microwave and then stirred in the protein and their consistency got almost as thick as when you add egg whites. I used the same amount of water, amount of oats, cook time, protein type & amount, the only difference, the only difference was the slight delay...Coincidence or do you think it allowed the oats to absorb more water?

Gotcha, thanks for the link! Just was curious because I've read so much conflicting info about uncooked egg whites/beaters' protein not having as high bio-availability because of the temperature they pasteurize them at. Never know what to believe though but I do enjoy mixing them with oats.

If the oats are hot after just being microwaved then hypothetically they should cook the majority of the egg whites. Just my 2c, but it's probably minutia either way...Long story short > eat proats. profit.

Waittt...have I been doing it wrong all along? I've done oats, yogurt, + mix ins and then threw it in the fridge but I always did all my overnight oats in the microwave first b/c the texture gets MAD thick, almost like spackling paste if you get the amount of water right. Sometimes I'll break a plastic spoon eating them, and then I know I made them exactly right. haha

As far as I am concerned overnight oats aren't cooked man. I always mix the oats with GY milk and protein/flavourings and refrigerate overnight, they absorb the liquid and go really thick.
