    Alternative to kettlebells

Unfortunately my gym doesn't have kettlebells. Anyone know a good alternative exercise to
    -one arm kettlebell swing
    -double kettlebell push press

    Thanks.

True! A bit awkward to say the least though no? Also could trying the motions with a dumbell lead to greater chance of injury?

I use fixed 20kg and 24kg DB's for a modified KB swing (gym's KB's only go up to 16kg)...not as nice, but definitely does the job. I can't really see a better alternative.

Thanks, and you think much better then say just replacing double kettlebell swing with say normal DB shoulder raise?

Personally I much prefer doing one armed DB/KB swings to a shoulder raise...for me it engages the core much more.

Again, these should not be interchangeable as they are completely different exercises.

What are your goals? To become better at KB exercises? If you're just looking to get stronger, increase power, strength or anything general I'd say anything could be a good alternative.

You can swing dumbbells, it's just the leverage is different since the weight is closer to you.

In regards to pressing, kettlebells are more stable since the weight is lower and stabilized against the forearm. It might be safer to push press a barbell. If you're doing it with dumbbells just be careful about your wrist alignment and sholder form.
