And you take half of the whole (.75) which would be .375 and add it to the half .75 you get my answer 1.125 lbs

This, Yeah your right. But when its saying the "whole of the half crab" it just means the half crab. As simple as that its just trying to use the most confusing way to say it. And the answer still stands at 1.125

No dude the problem is still as its written. They together weigh 1.5 but the answer for the question that the problem asks (how much does the whole of the half crab and half of the whole weigh) is 1.125lbs

You yourself said the half = .75
and the whole is = .75

then you take half of the whole so 75/2 =.375

And its .375 + .75

Im not sure how to explain it more clearly...

Like if you had half a pizza, and you wanted the "whole of the half pizza", you want the whole thing, not the half.
