    Three eggs too much?

Is eating three eggs every morning (with yolk) too much cholesterol?

I am a 25 year old male who weighs 205 lbs. I lift about 3 times a week for an hour and do cardio at least once a week for an hour. I have been eating three eggs, at least, every morning for over a year now and am starting to get worried about the amount of cholesterol in there.

yes, WAYYYYYY too much. be careful, your heart may explode. In all seriousness if you are concerned about your cholesterol go to the doctor and have your labs taken. but this should not raise your cholesterol.

I tend to have 4-6 everyday and my cholesterol has not changed over the last 5 years. However, my early lack of sodium checking has caused issues with my blood pressure.

Is your dad overweight/obese? Since blood lipid disorders are often inherited, you might want to have your blood lipids checked and monitored.

and whats wrong with high total cholesterol? more HDL cholesterol prevents buildup of plaque in the arteries and decreasesrisk of heart disease.

only elevated levels of pattern B LDL cholesterol are harmful, and neither dietary cholesterol nor saturated fat (i.e. eggs) will raise it.

it's about the ratio of good to bad cholesterol. High total cholesterol means absolutely nothing.

Well if you want to use the specific terminology, I suppose you can. I'm well aware of this but didn't see this clarification as necessary, as I am referring to ldl cholesterol. I actually have abnormally high hdl cholesterol myself.

I could go on about how I eat several eggs a day. I could add that everyone I know who is even tangentially interested in fitness does the same. But anecdotal evidence, however voluminous, can only be so substantial. Thankfully, the science supports the anecdotes in this case. Eggs are great. Eat up.

He is not overweight, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did inherit something from him. His dad has it, he has it and I bet I have it.
